Can someone clarify German pre-war number plate lettering. eg. IIA-58112 for BMW 328 (where the first two "digits" are the capitol letter "I") - or should it be IIA (where it is the numeral "one").
Or things like "IIB-" or similar. Or IZ-33333 or 1Z-33333.
It always bugs me as I research Mercedes- Benz supercharged cars over the years, or BMW 328 etc.
Because the lettering is not clear in some fonts - one can never trust what is seen on vasmel.com or worldlicenseplates.com or similar sites.
Thanks in advance
