Been thinking about MS quite a bit lately.
I think I just have come to realize that he was the driver who I saw come into the sport and leave the sport with complete dominance and talent - and it seems to mean more as time passes.
Pretty lucky to have been a part of that.

At the end of this year it will be 10 years ago since he had his skiing accident. He may have been one of the most succesful sportsmen of his era, I doubt few would want to have swapped their life with his considering the last 10 years. So sad. I wonder if death would not have been the preferred option for him (if he himself was able to make that choice for himself) instead of his current state (which is officially unknown but assumed that he cannot speak or walk anymore).

I've thought about this a fair bit over the last 10 years as well. Given his status and the fact that he was involved in a dangerous sport, I cannot imagine he didn't have an advanced medical directive and various other legal documents outlining exactly what he wanted in various scenarios at the time of his accident. The family has remained silent on this but I'd at least like to imagine whatever state he is in is something that he himself decided was acceptable rather than the family making that decision for him. I know I'd rather not live in such a state and have a directive for my partner that outlines this.

Just as a curiosity, I seem to remember you were often critical about him. Or maybe I remember wrong.
