Yeah I’m the same with DC. Clearly earning his Red Bull money still, despite not driving for them since 2008.

I'd also add that hiring 'active' drivers as pundits also tends to dramatically weaken any racing series - the Australians have a big problem with most of their pundits either current- or ex-Triple 8 drivers.

Now here is an interesting theory. These British people in F1 are apparently so irredeemably biased against Max Verstappen, it may turn out that British citizen Christian Horner and his team of dastardly British mechanics are sabotaging him to hand the championship to Hamilton. Clearly a possibility according to some here.

They are all 'Austrian'.  That small piece of land in Milton Keynes where they reside is Austrian.  It's why they have immunity from prosecution for their misdemeanours. :)

Only here in the UK do we get all self-concious about media bias towards UK sports competitors, when in most other countries its full on patriotic cheerleading for their "heros".

Yeah but Horner is working for the enemy of the British people. Red Bull Racing.

Everyone in Britain is getting on the anti RB bandwagon. Chain Bear just bashed Horner on Twitter

Hamilton was Knighted

Chain Bear?  I don't even know who or what the **** that is.  But much like the previous complaints about Alonso's apparent unfair press treatment, it has to be said that neither do Red Bull warrant any particular attention, nor are they foremost in the national psyche.  Although strangely enough the only time I have ever seen the Autosport website main page changed entirely was in celebrating Red Bull's German driver's 4th WDC.  Umpteen articles, background changed to Red Bull blue....  it was laid on thick.  Bloody biased Brits!

Chain Bear F1 is a Youtube channel that any self-respecting F1 should be aware of, if not subscribed to.

They're an independent channel. So I don't think they're part of the remit of this thread. But this thread has descended into getting bumped any time anyone British says anything positive ever.

people online not happy with Ted Kravitz 'interviewing' Verstappen today:

https://streamable.com/g1uftk

Ted during the Quali notebook:

"We talked about the Red Bull's agitating about the Mercedes rear wing, with the scratch marks, or the score marks or the scoring, or the scorching, whatever you want to call it. But I do think it's just Red Bull being naughty, I don't think there's anything in it. Not only reading between the lines, but also talking to various people throughout Formula 1. They'd be crazy, Mercedes would be crazy to be doing anything like that. They wouldn't because they knew they'd get found out, and they're not that kind of team to do that kind of thing. So I don't think we're going to see any action anyway, I just think it's Red Bull using all various arrows in their bow to put Mercedes under pressure and to score some points off the track as well as on it, because on it Red Bull are in a bit of trouble. They're behind but they don't really know how."

He did sound shouty/panicky when the Merc was DSQ at Brazil  :D

Schumacher had a pretty strong fanbase in the UK I think TBF, not as big as in the continent maybe but he has a lot of fans in Britain.

Back in the days of Schumacher domination, the Red Army was always far and away the largest group of fans at the British Grand Prix.  I once joked that they couldn't ALL be Italian waiters from Soho and was predictably accused of 'racism'.

They are all 'Austrian'.  That small piece of land in Milton Keynes where they reside is Austrian.  It's why they have immunity from prosecution for their misdemeanours. :)

So they are now all in lockdown and won't be allowed to compete today?

Nope, like P123, never heard of it.  Silly name, even by YT standards.  It has never come up on my YouTube feed, despite my showing some interest in motor sport there.  But I will be sure not to look for it.  That is because I have no self-respect (apparently).

Martin Brundle has labelled the grid penalties handed to Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas at the Qatar Grand Prix as "harsh". I thought the grid penalties for him and Valtteri Bottas were harsh on Sunday," Brundle wrote in his column for Sky Sports. There were mitigating circumstances to say the least and with no trackside yellow warning panels, but green panels on the pit wall for the pitlane weighbridge, I would have missed the relatively poorly lit sole marshal post correctly waving a flag or flags on the left-hand side every time.

This group likes the tracks that Hamilton wins and and dislike the tracks that Verstappen wins at. They don't even realize that they are doing it. The Missed Apex podcast did the same thing.

I made an exception for Silverstone and even Brazil because those were special races. But Qatar ? There was nothing sentimental about the track at all.

Yet the very first thing they start talking about is how great the Qatar track was. And good and entertaining the race was. The same ppl who bashed the Dutch track first thing , and Mexico basically in the first breath of the respective podcasts. Because they subconsciously see a track that Hamilton wins at in a positive light.

Why do you keep torturing yourself listening to it?

Why do you keep torturing yourself listening to it?

That's a dangerous question, especially nowadays. One of the biggest problems of modern social media and stuff is that people increasingy tend to only listen to what they like to hear. Yet if one even remotely aspires to really understand a topic, that's absolutely counter-productive.

Anyway, I reckon the british media are still the least biased available. Which doesn't at all mean they are unbiased.

   What has that got to do with the British media?  Or are you suggesting that Planet F1 have misrepresented Dr Marko's comments?

Or are you simply showing us that you are just another whinging Red Bull fan?

Would that be the famously British brand, Mercedes, headed by the quintessential Englishman, Wolff?
