Veekay struggled a lot in the last laps but apart from that his dip in form since his injury remains. Nowadays it is not rare for Conor Daly to beat him in qualifying and race and not because Daly is going quicker (he's staying where he's always been) but because Rinus has gone backwards.

Bocce is larger balls, more like a bowl but a hard rubber material whereas petanque is a smaller metal ball. That is certainly the difference in Jersey where both are played on a rolled hoggin surface.Never heard it called that. I have a pétanque set in the car for the beach though.

Dixon back on form, but with likely too much of a gap to make up. Newgarden with a strong drive from a bad starting position. Rossi looking good, and he didn’t throw it away.

A lot happened, it was a decent race. VK may be suffering from his injury far more than admitted. Just because Newgarden was winning races two weeks after he broke his collarbone doesn’t mean the same for Rinus.

That doesn't explain why his tires wear harder during the stints, while he has the pace at the start of them. I'm beginning to think something is wrong with his car, setupwise, broken dampers, I don't know what. Daly was almost never beating him in 1,5 seasons and now he is suddenly faster? Actually, not really faster, VK dropping 10 spots on average is not normal.

I sadly wasn't able to stick around the whole race, but wanted to say I'm glad to see Palou managed to win this one. He's had a rotten run of luck, so I'm heartened he's back in front. If either O'Ward or Palou win the title, I'd be delighted - but in this case, it felt wrong to have O'Ward leading at the restart and Palou in the pack for something entirely out of Palou's control.
I agree with those of you saying the torch has been passed at Ganassi. That said, Dixon's 41 now, and has had an extraordinary run of things - and he's still having a very decent season. He certainly has nothing to be ashamed of here.

I call insufficient data. Just because Dixon has intrasquad competition again hardly means he's done.
Betting against Dixon in future races strikes me as one of the Classic Blunders--perhaps not as severe as starting a land war in Asia or wagering against a Sicilian with Death on the line, but bad enough.

Really don't know how to comment on this race. Aside from the expected first corner mayhem, I thought this was a pretty well raced event. Sadly the yellows and resulting pits stops and alternate strategies, made it hard for me to follow. I must be getting old.

Pretty sure the main guilty parties there, Graham, were Rosenqvist, Grosjean and Ilott. Fair enough, Rosenqvist finished ahead of you, but he didn't win. The other two were laps down and retired.
Palou and Dixon didn't exactly cause anything!

Palou and Dixon didn't exactly cause anything!
Nonsense, bailing for the escape road and getting moved to the back is a clear unfair advantage. How dare Graham be burdened by not having to pass 20 cars while saving fuel in order to get back to a winning position.*
* Potential sarcasm

This late in the season, it would not impact your overall score much. I’ve tanked the last two rounds, yet I still have a snowballs chance in hell for a top three finish.
