Which is why they should remove 5 WDC points, instead of adding 5 seconds.

That would put Haas drivers at -5. There's just no time/points penalty which hurts equally for everyone.

A world as inconsistent as F1 is perfect for cherry picking.  :p

Perhaps an extra task for race engineers? Inform their drivers of the weekly rule flavour.

Funny enough, iirc Hamilton placed his car in a similar spot as Max did versus Bottas a few years ago. Max went onto the green stuff and Bottas didn't. Maybe Max should've followed Bottas' path to invite a foul.

Still may not have been a foul, given how LeClerc managed to get away with pushing Hamilton onto the dirt, while defending the lead into the Roggia chicane during the 2019 race.  Having said that, it was a red car leading the Italian GP on that occasion..........

I looked at that too - not sure there was 1 car's width there if you're not counting the green stuff. If there was contact and no space it would have been 100% on Lewis. I think Max tried to make it work, not to make a point into T1.

Similarly, I think Lewis would have been better if he missed the apex in T1 and literally closed the door before the apex of T2. The way he drove he "kind of" left some space, where he invited Max to go into. On L1 Max closed the door and made it pretty clear you're not going to be driving around the outside much earlier. (not saying it's good or bad....) I think it's bad, but my opinion is irelevant, the stewards decide the outcome.

Monza doesn't get enough criticism for being impossible to pass on.

I think its more likely that Norris gets him than Dan, but yeah, Dan going wheel to wheel with Max on lap 1 will pretty much always lose out, he's not the best lap 1 driver, so if he is ahead of Max in turn 1, he wont finish the lap in front, whereas Norris would give him a harder time

…..hehe…😉

Well, last time he tried that a new rule was invented, post-factum.

One thing that puts a slight smile on my face about this race.

Earlier this season many people expressed an opinion that Hamilton is going to win the WDC this year while Red Bull are going to win the WCC.

Later there was the talk how Perez only needs to fix his qualifying, otherwise he is a good driver for Red Bull while Bottas has absolutely no racecraft whatsoever and only his qualifying keeps him in contention for some results.

Now we had a race in which Bottas has started from the back and he still finished ahead of Perez (as far as the official results stand). :p One can say that Mercedes was the quicker car around Monza and there might be something to it but still Hamilton didn't exactly run circles around Vestappen, so...

Lol, but not the message I expected. If I am not mistaken he was already informed about those track limits on a prior occasion, so, seeing the advantage he got from it, I expected it to be noted and be looked into.

They get 3 warnings before anything else happens.

When it devolved to the point that people are criticizing Monza of all places, then u recognize it’s the cars, not the track.

Not if it's clear that a driver gain an advantage from it. Which arguably he did. But FIA etc.
