Sad news, thanks for posting this. It has been a particularly rough year for veteran Canadian racers.

Bugger! I saw Rudi race a jillion times at Mosport in a variety of cars. He was good at his craft.

RUDY BARTLING TAKES FEATURE AT HAREWOOD OPENER
▢ The Ontario racing season opened successfully at
Harewood on Saturday, May 9, as London Automobile
Sport Club ran a full program of races for all classes,
including two novice events. The organizers claim one
of the best crowds they have had at this southern
Ontario airport course, in spite of howling wind which
blew in everything but rain.
Rudy Bartling of Toronto in the ex-Heimrath RS60
Porsche had a good day, capturing second in the first
heat and winning the 30-lap feature Harewood Trophy
race in 40 min. 29.8 sec., and setting the fastest
recorded lap of the race, although Vic Yachuk of
Kingston was unofficially timed a few seconds faster.
Yachuk in the Lotus 19 out of Ecurie Portland won
two heats, but failed to finish the final when the front
suspension broke and he had to be dug out of the
deep trackside mud.
