Has he ever said anything about it?

Not in any detail in Driving Ambition, there merest mention (which doesn’t confirm that he actually drove it) in Part 2

The link I provided has a picture of him seemingly on the move to start testing.  I wonder when he signed to drive for Surtees?

Just to clarify, I wasn’t casting doubt on whether Jonesey did drive it at Ricard, just that the entry in the book is so brief that he doesn’t mention whether he did any laps to gain an impression of the car or not.
