Always nice when a time traveler exposes themselves

As for the rest of the calendar? So which tracks getting the boot?  Is Barcelona still on?

Cool. So does it mean that Paul Ricard is no more? (since it was supposed to be one or the other)

A proper track instead of an airport track.

Good. I properly love Imola, just a great great circuit.

Let’s bring back Magny Cours instead of Paul Ricard too please? No, ok. Too much.

Now we just need the provisional calendar so I can plan to watch the races (if I seen correctly it replaces france)

I'd rather watch four GP snooze fests in Imola then a sprint race in some desert - both literally and figuratively.

I'm a noted Imola sceptic, so meh.

It wasn't too long ago that Monza struggled to afford the fees and the Italian GP was under threat. I do wonder if two races in Italy will be sustainable for the length of the contract, particularly if they are both dependent on central government funding, which can always be withdrawn with a change of government.

Good news. A classic venue in a beautiful setting with a rich history has secured a place on the calendar.

Lovely. Like Calum I might start looking at the cost of flights and accommodation in the Bologna area.

And all it took was a global pandemic for F1 to start going back to decent tracks.

I really love this circuit, although I have to say it's a bit too narrow for overtaking, but we'll see how next year's cars will behave! Overall, I'm glad we're still going to get races there!

Imola is a great track for driving but has not been so great for racing since the post-1994 configuration changes, especially with the current cars.  Hopefully the new technical rules for 2022, allied to the previous removal of the final chicane, will improve things.

Reasonably pleased....Imola is not what it was in the old days but it's better than its late 90s configuration.

I do not understand that hate for Paul Ricard, nor even tepid enthusiasm for Magny-Cours...let alone like for it. Imola is one of the races I might tune in for next year.

At one point provisional calendar said Paul Ricard or Imola, so maybe French GP is gone.

I don't think there's a better place for a European holiday to combine with a GP.

Meh. Track has been rubbish since 1994, even more so with modern cars.

Given Monza had been struggling a bit with crowds (pre COVID), I wonder If having two races in Italy is going to be sustainable. Perhaps if Ferrari build a decent car again it could help.

I’d far rather Monza than Imola.

I think Magny Cours is one of the more underrated tracks of the era personally. The first sector is genuinely fast and challenging, there was good racing into the Adelaide hairpin (Coulthard vs Schumacher coming to mind), it threw up some memorable races, some bad weather, some good races. I really, deeply dislike Paul Ricard for modern F1.

Me too.  Imola rather than Mugello?  Now there's a proper track.

While Mugello turned out to be a fantastic track for the current generation of cars with flowing corners and the sweeping bend onto the long straight making T1 into the best overtaking spot on the calendar outside of Baku and Shanghai, I still think Imola's history just puts it ahead in my personal preference as I quite like Imola as a track as well (overtaking difficulties and all).

In the end I'd like to have all three 2020 Grands Prix hosted in Italy on the calendar, but that unfortunately doesn't seem feasible in the slightest.

There must be a way of improving the current Tamburello though.

If they're somehow capable of turning it into a proper overtaking spot it'll be game changing.

I'm a big fan too. France should have a GP and there's often good races there. Its also in nice countryside so whats not to like?

The countryside where Magny Cours is is pretty dull though there are some interesting buildings. Certainly, compared to Paul Ricard where you’re only a short drive away from Massif des Calanques, it really doesn’t come close. And if you are going to spend a week or two somewhere and make the F1 part of a holiday, you’d be mad to go to Magny Cours.

The chinese GP gave some half decent racing. Something I do not recall much of at Magny-Cours....and the teams hated it for it's location in the middle of nowhere. Paul Ricard gave us a good race this year, I thought. There's really nowhere else in France it can feasibly be.

Not unhappy that Imola is on the calendar though. I was sceptical, especially after the post-94 F1 races there....but they've improved the flow since then. I do agree Tamburello still could do with something changing. But I'm quite happy to see it back.

As for Mugello, would like to see the race perhaps alternate between Imola and Mugello....or bring back non-championship F1 races and have one at Mugello.

I'm not that fond of Imola but still better than most Tilke tracks.

I think China produced some good races in the past. I'd rather see Paul Ricard or Abu Dhabi disappear.
