I’m looking to go to Imola next season as a circuit I’ve never been before that also fits with other things going on in life for me and my friends, we hoped for Portimao and a trip to the coast but it’s not to be,

Has anyone been before? Given the lack of races there recently (with fans) it seems hard to get info about. Not sure where to sit, whether GA is a valid option etc. Any general tips for Imola would also be appreciated.

It's a fabulous setting - in a suburban area with many houses overlooking the track.

That, coupled with the general infrastructure and fences restricting views make it somewhat difficult to get to good viewing places. Those that are accessible, are small areas & will be crowded, making it difficult to get a good view.

The grandstands however, seem placed in good positions, so if you could choose a different one for different sessions/race, that would give you a mix of viewing.

You can stand at ground level on he inside at Tamburello but it does not give you a great view.

There's a lovely park on the inside of the circuit (Parco delle Acque Minerali) with a fantastic variety of trees.

The track is on the edge of town - accessible possibly walking from the town itself.

The town itself is typically nice Italian with a central old town. There are a few really nice little mountain towns to visit nearby. Dozza being one I would recommend.

But I'm sure some others here will know the place better...
