Saw news of his passing from complications of diabetes on social media; top rider who beat Spencer and Lawson in winning the AMA Superbike title twice and also won the Suzuka 8 Hours twice.
He didn’t race much outside the USA, but rode in the Transatlantic trophy a few times, with not very competitive bikes.
RIP; keep ‘er lit.

RIP Wes, one of the best. He suffered from the effects of diabetes for almost his entire life.Twice AMA Superbike champ though I'll always think of him on this Yosh bike.
