Senna appears to back off mid corner to slow Mansell rather than just slow down early i that Hungary clip. Braking or slowing early seems like your asking to be rear-ended.

I think people assume Mansell did it at Adelaide but as I say, I'm not sure what the evidence is.

I'm a little confused with your response. Are you suggesting that they (F1 drivers) don't need to use the brake pedal in order to make the car stop quickly or were you referring to my "road rage" comment?

They have so much downforce that simply lifting off the throttle will cause a rapid deceleration and mean another car following close behind will have to react very quickly. They don't need to touch the brakes as someone would in a road car.

As we got no telemetry, there is no evidence, just pointers and indications.

If you look at the slow-mo here I think it's quite visible how Mansell is a) on an unusual line compared to other laps and b) slows down / brakes earlier than usual. Compare with the start of the clip when Senna is also close behind into that corner and Mansell appears to brake much later.

I think it's pretty obvious. Whatever Mansell had in mind, it didn't work as planned. Also note how it's Nigel running away from the scene with some haste... normally he isn't so shy when he feels he's been wronged... ;)

Interesting! I always found it unusual Senna would make such a massive error so early in the race.

I forgot about this one, it does look a bit suspicious: https://youtu.be/m6kiPFOpFTM

It’s so subtle, it’s hard to tell.

It’s not as obvious as Blundell in silverstone in 1995

Ron Dennis's reaction to that moment is hilarious .  Squeezing that water bottle, looks like he's about to blow a gasket

I feel sorry for Ron, he had his fill of Alonso at that point. If Alonso did break test Hamilton to put him off, I’d be in a lot worse state than Ron 😂😂

I recently came across some YT videos and noticed how at the heat of the moment that some drivers would break test the drivers behind them:

Mark Blundell breaking testing Rubens Barrichello (from 8:22 onwards):

It’s odd to hear the commentators criticise Rubens for not being tough enough, even though Mark just did a break test in an acceleration zone.

This one made me wince.

It was also funny to hear them talking about the dirty air problem too.
