Disqualified after qualifying in F1

I am trying to recall if there has been a disqualification after qualifying is F1 before?
I am sure it must have happened in the 1980s after being underweight or missing the weight bridge or something technical related?

McLaren and Penske at Monza 1976, disqualified for beating Ferrari.

Of course that’s a good one! Something linked to the fuel they used and going over the 101 octane limit?

Both Toyotas in Melbourne 2009 IIRC (flexible rear wings)

1976 came to mind, but there must be plenty of other instances.
I have just been reading the hysterical nonsense in the Guardian: https://www.theguard...1-gp-qualifying which has been edited throughout the day. For some reason it now appears under the Observer banner.
Apparently, the disqualification (which it isn't, as it's a penalty) "leaves Hamilton's title hopes in tatters" - although it then goes on to say that Lewis "trails Verstappen by 19 points with four rounds, including Brazil, remaining and 107 points available."
It also states: "For Mercedes it was a technical infringement that it is impossible to imagine was deliberate."
Give me strength.

It was meant to be [commercially obtainable octane RON rating] + 1, which McLaren passed, on the basis that the RON in the UK was 101, and McLaren was 101.6. For some strange reason the Italians decided that a British team with a British engine had to be tested against Ferrari's fuel. Penske got caught in the crossfire, probably down to a bad batch.
De Cesaris was de facto excluded at the 1984 French GP because his fire extinguisher was empty for Q1. Q2 was wet so he was 27th out of the 26 starters. He still got to start because Guy Ligier withdrew Hesnault from 14th to give the barrier magnet a pointless drive. Doubly harsh given Hesnaut was faster in Q2.

Wasn't Lewis disqualified after qualifying on pole for the 2012 Spanish GP for being underweight? It was the race Maldonado won for Williams...on Sir Frank's 70th birthday. Hmmmm.

Yes, he was excluded from the session for not having enough fuel for the required sample. Vettel was disqualified in the same year for the same reason after Abu Dhabi quali:

And nothing to do with Penske having won in Austriia and then having fought for the lead at Zandvoort in the two previous races. Just to be clear.

Ken Richardson was disqualified from the 1951 Italian GP having qualified 10th for not having the appropriate race license, that's the only example I can think of right now.

Of course Tyrrell were disqualified after qualifying for all the races they took part in during 1984 but then managed to get disqualified from all the race results as well so probably does not count towards this stat !

Charles Pozzi from the Italian GP 1948 when after practice they discovered that his car was a two seater.
Apparently driving a Talbot-Lago T26SS. So how come nobody noticed it was not a monoposto until so late in the day?

Q1 and Q2 in 1984 . I called it 'practice' back then . Still do sometimes

Had it been bodied by Tony Crook?

Michael Schumacher, 2006 Monaco GP....after 'parking' at Rascasse, so bringing out the yellow flag thus depriving Alonso of the chance of going for pole...had to start the race from the back.
And Michael got excluded from the whole 1997 WDC...

Well, obviously the car had been rebodied at the beginning of the season, yet still with offset driver position. Maybe the organizers hadn´t taken a serious look, knowing that it had already been running at the Swiss and French GPs before.
On the other hand Righetti´s Ferrari Spider had been 'correctly' excluded already before practice.
