Another point to make is that not all periods in F1 have the same number of open places to new drivers. If the window is closed when you win the feeder series you stand much less chance to get in.

To somewhat mitigate this problem teams started to get also more professional with driver academies.

Maybe the problem is those driver academies. Maybe it should simply be that teams are obliged to contribute money to an independent organisation that will provide funding to young drivers through some sort of scholarship scheme. That way each team can then look at the whole talent pool when they are in need of new drivers.

Another pay driver? Hope this doesn't open the floodgates of china trying to take over every thing in the world.

No.

Another well-qualified, fast driver who, like nearly everybody else these days, has to bring cash with him to get the F1 chance that he has earned.  And if the Chinese have the best drivers, then so be it.  At the moment, the United Kingdom, a fairly small nation, has more F1 wins and has produced more WDCs and more F1 drivers (discounting US Indy 500 drivers) than any other country.  So why shouldn't the Chinese get a look in?

Bottas is definitely better than Kimi (of recent years) or Gio, Zhou is probably a downgrade on either though.

Definetely not.
even at his age he has a much better racecrfaft than Bottas has ever shown.

and is much more efficient in races than Valtteri who has been brutal last years in the best car.

it’s a clear downgrade. But it was also time for Kimi to go.
