No, Derek Warwick. Damon had a company called P1 International that specialised in high performance hire cars. He also had a BMW dealership.

Right, the P1 International, that was the mess I remembered. Michael Breen again. As if botching up the Williams negotiations wasn't enough.

I think Frank Williams told him to take his briefcase from the desk go out the door and leave the premises, or words to that effect. ;)

That's one of those quotes that gets attributed to so many. In the U.S., it's usually attributed to either actor George Raft or football quarterback Bobby Layne.

It's like the story of the cop pulling the driver over: "Who do you think you are? (Barney Oldfield; Fangio; Stirling Moss; Parnelli Jones; A.J. Foyt; Mario Andretti; etc., etc.)"

Barney Oldfield?  That's who my 91 year old dad always brings up when we discuss racing.  (Facepalm)

I'm sure 91 year old Detroit Lions fans still talk about Bobby Layne, they haven't won anything since.

I believe Derek Warwick did own a chain of Honda dealerships however.

He did - i got my Toyota Corolla GT Coupe AE86 from the dealership in Southampton (it was a trade-in they had taken and didn't really want, so got it for a song).  But it looks like he only has a Honda dealership on Jersey now.

It seems it actually happens some times.

A cop near Woking once stopped a speeding car and asked the driver if he thought he was Nigel Mansell?

No, I am Ayrton Senna answered a disgruntled Ayrton Senna.....

Edit: Arghh, damn spelling.
