I have had a quick check but I can't find any posts which answer my question of who actually started and owned the famous Arch Motors.

I did find this thread from RTH https://forums.autos...06-arch-motors/

They seemed to have made the production chassis for nearly every spaceframe car in the 1960's and I have met several fabricators who talked of learning their craft at " the Arch" . One went from there  to Penske Poole so the standards must have been pretty good despite it being a production shop.

So please does anybody know who started Arch Motors and did they own it throughout the 60's please?

Bruce and Philip Robinson?  I recall something like that, but cannot swear blind this is correct where company foundation is concerned...just found reference to company being incorporated on May 31, 1962.

Autosport March 7 1969 says Arch Motors was founded in Tottenham, North London in 1958 by Bob Robinson and Ted Young, later joined by Alan Young, Ted's brother. The company moved to Huntingdon in January 1967.

Also this very good article in Motor Sport about Cyril Malem, who  started at Arch Motors and then  was the Penske Poole guy I mentioned above. He actually built the frame and suspensions of a CLubmans car I was invoilved with. I always remember he could braze, smoke a fag and drink tea all at the same time.
