My compliments go to all contenders, all really good entries. My list:
1. St. Petersburg
2. Tokyo
3. Devon in Dartmoor.

The tie is broken!! For now
I didn't want to post that in case someone else voted for yours or one of the other proposals that are on four votes.

Hm, nobody responded to my threats and/or bribe offers, so maybe not!

I was hoping the poll would be a tie, because the written votes are a much better way of determining the winner. That's what we did the first time round.

I ought to have taken that approach, but I thought I'd combine both methods. Too late to change now, I suppose.

Way to complicated for me

Thank you, Aaaarrgghh. I'll make sure those prints and negatives are destroyed in due time, after voting is complete.
Now, who's next?

Five days left!

Tokyo or Tucson, that's the question!
Posted 22 January 2022 - 22:30
Actually, it's not even close. Just looking over it quickly, it seemsTokyo has a LOAD of additional second and third place vote points, so unless some miracle happens with another first place vote for Tucson, that's your winner And even THEN it might turn out Tokyo has more "points" overall, which would make the result... controversial!

I don;t care about total points - I'm using the OIympic medals table as my guide.

At this point if anyone would like to bribe me to change my vote from Toyko to Brooklands, Ironbridge Gorge, St Martin or Tucson, do so via PM.
Posted 25 January 2022 - 20:40
Oooooh stake in the heart! Surely that's the clincher?
Posted 25 January 2022 - 20:45
I realised I hadn't actually put my votes in. No votes for Tokyo here
1. Saint Martin - I love the backdrop for the race. It's a beautiful part of the world, and I like a track with elevation changes.
2. Tucson - I can't not recognise how awesome a race somewhere like this would be, Max. Think it would be a little on the long side, though.
3. New Orleans - More for the fact that it's the most IndyCar of the entries!
Posted 25 January 2022 - 21:31
I see what you did there!
Posted 25 January 2022 - 21:38
psssst... PaYR, what are your demands?
I have no demands. Use your imagination.
Posted 27 January 2022 - 10:28
Hmmm, a sixth vote for Tokyo - was still 5-all last time I looked.
Frood's to lose?
If it stay like this, the fact that some who voted without stating their preferences won't be a problem.

BTW, I ought to explain that I care about total first-place votes and totals of send and third-place nominations. What I meant was that, if two entries tied on votes for 1st, but one had more second-place nominations, it would win.

So if we run this thing like F1, we should annul the votes now - just before the championship finish - remove all other entries than Tucson and Tokyo, and then vote again, but only allow Aaaargh, Beri, jonpollak and thegamer23's votes.
