This came up here a few months ago (don't remember the thread title) but as far as I remember, no one could identify it...

As Paul says, we discussed this mystery car a few months ago but never got anywhere with establishing its identity. Here’s hoping for better luck this time.

While the car is quite dusty, the adhesive numbers suggest it has been used fairly recently. Was that by the now deceased owner in Canada?  Perhaps some search of entry lists for Canadian historic events for car 51 might help?

That's not a gearbox in there, is it? Just a dog engagement?

Transverse leaf springs, live axles, lots of scrub radius, it seems more likely to have been built for paved ovals.

Hmmmmm
Coukd it be for Formula 2 not Formula 1?
It's an in line engine, not a V6 or a flat 4.  It's not tall enough to be a Bristol or BMW  engine.  An Alta or something more mundane?  Does the exhaust on the RH side offer any clues?

It has a curved perspex screen, not the flat glass aero screenthat was more common in the early fifties - but this could of course be a later mod?

Intake and exhaust in the same (RH) side?  Or might that be a blower intake?  The nose/grille has Aston Martin overtones, but that is hardly definitive

The instruments might provide a clue, but not to me.

The engine currently fitted is clearly a Ford. In the earlier thread it was suggested to be a Ford Falcon D21, but this engine was apparently fitted in the 1970s and is not the original.

The engine shown is a Ford 240, 250 or 300...

It's the typical engine in a regular F100, but was also used in cars.
