Yeah. Françoise Hardy isn't in the best of health
That too, but just the sheer beauty and expression in her heyday

So its a remake of Driven then?
I certainly hope someone shows the producers a copy of Driven, to show them just what NOT to do!

I wonder if Netflix's DTS will show anything about this Apple movie

Those facial expressions in the stills... Hilarious. We are ACTORS!!! (Except for the Dutch geezer, who looks like a real person).

I wonder if Damon Hill will fancy a comeback seeing Brad Pitt's successful return to F1 at 59.

In the shot where they are walking toward the cars on the grid… the rest of the grid are all turned round watching them…. So unless it’s a really tight shot, it’s not going to look like a realistic scenario is it? And that awful music blaring from the stands too…
Nice to have the movie set on a race weekend, but the other teams crews all look so unnatural that I question if there’s actually much value at all.
There are no guarantees, of course, but I think you might be very surprised at what they can do with it. And the actual ambient sound doesn't matter. They'll make it sound however they want.

Pat, Lisa and Louise.
Just so we are clear.
Jp
One of my 10 favourite films. The in car footage of the old tracks that no longer exist as they appear is fascinating, and the storyline is believable in the garagistes era that any team could produce a WCC car.
I fear the storyline for this new film will be beyond ridiculous, and of all the great eras possible for a film why pick the most boring?

Filming has been shut down because of Hollywoods writers/actors strike.
As a Hollywood A-lister and a member of the Actors Guild, Brad Pitt is showing his solidarity with his acting and writing peers.
"All filming is shut down for now," a source told NBC News. "Brad had really enjoyed himself, but he is definitely a very loyal member of the union."
The F1 film's production crews were scheduled to film at the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa next week where Carlin Motorsport, which is handling the running of APXGP's two mock-up F1 cars that appear in the film, was due to be present.
While negotiations are ongoing between SAG-AFTRA's leaders and the studios, guild members are bracing for a long-drawn-out summer of strikes.

I saw a headline about that, maybe from the Express (google gives me F1 headlines), saying that Filming was shutdown after Verstappen complained. Actually read the story despite being pretty sure it was clickbait, yep writer / actors strike caused the sto, it also said that while some F1 drivers like having the film crew, etc around Verstappen didn't. No link between them, but it was used as clickbait.

The Express is an utterly awful source of F1 news. It's on a par with The Judge for me.

It's not a paper I would usually give the time of day, but I was wondering how they could twist it so Verstappen stops production of a film.

Yeah, true. I'm surprised they haven't run with "What Princess Diana would have thought of Max Verstappen's cancellation of the F1 film"

Oh cool, Brad Pitt’s character has the same surname as me. That’s mildly annoying.
Um, I’m sure this will be pretty terrible and I’ve got zero interest in watching it. Same goes for pretty much every Motorsport movie but this one ticks more irritation boxes than most of them so I’m even less interested. Rush, I could see the value in that (even though I’ve still never seen it) but this one really doesn’t look like my cup of tea at all. I can just about stomach Drive to Survive but that’s it.
I can advise to watch Rush and just Fast Forward every scene with Hemsworth (except when Daniel Brühl is in that scene, as Lauda, who is brilliant). If I think that, for example, an actor like Christian Bale would have played James Hunt (not him neccesarily, but some who can ACT)... such a missed opportunity.
Ford vs Ferrari was also very good, except for the historic falsehoods to create a 'villain' out of Leo Beebe...

Something not quite right about the Apex team pitstops…
What do you mean? That's a textbook Ferrari pitstop.

I can't stop watching. What are the two guys fondling the front wing supposed to be doing?
Posted 15 November 2023 - 15:30
Apparently, none of the on track footage that has been shot so far can be used in the film, as the film has lost some of its (major) sponsors that were present on the car, team clothing and pitboxes, and thus visible in every shot.
Probably a year delay or so as they will have to re-shoot.

Surely they can just digitally remove and replace the offending brands?

I know you're probably kidding, but yeah. I'm sure it will. The Paddock is still the Paddock everywhere but Vegas.

Probably cheaper to reshoot than spending all the hours going through the footage to remove the images! lol
Posted 16 November 2023 - 13:17
AI will fix that. I acquired a taste for older movies where the stunts were real instead of watching a CGI video game. I can play that myself.

Only just saw this for the first time
I cant wrap my head around the fact that this is even slower than a real pitstop where they actually change the tyres and wing settings
Posted 16 November 2023 - 14:51
Isn't that something AI could handle fairly easily?
AI could probably do 90% of it but probably need some people to go through and check it and tidy up any issues.

Just invent sponsors and let the movie be fiction as Movies are supposed to be.
