Just saw a trailer here

Some dialogue…

Brad Pitt: “We need to build a car for combat.” (What the hell does that mean? Whatever it means, it’s grounds for getting the sick bag ready.)
Kerry Condon: “Is that safe.” (Or words to that effect.)

Brad Pitt: “Who’s talking about safe?”  (Time to spew into the sick bag.)

If this, and a couple of other clips I’ve seen, are representative of the banality level of the script, I think I may be giving the movie a pass.
So far, it’s making a Carry On script look like an intellectual tour de force.

Oh I'm sure it will be cheesy and terrible.

But am I going to go to the cinema to watch it? Hell yes.

Crikey! Carry on scripts really are a cut above, comparatively speaking.

I feel like some of you have unrealistic expectations for a film about driving cars round in circles.

Sorry, it’s not unrealistic to expect that the scriptwriters rise above the level of trite and clichéd.
