Its one of my favourite circuits. The Grand Prix Legends version is very flawed and i'd like to see what the corners are really like. I've managed to find a few pics, not many broad shots which i wish photographers would do more often

Which corner is this? http://www.forix.com...74/12007_SO.JPG

It looks uphill and to the right. I think the circuit can been seen in the background.

To me it looks like T2 or to give it its correct title Dr. Tiroch Kurve, could be wrong don't have much to go in that picture.

I would guess the corner is the right hander after the old Schikane. I don't know that that particular corner ever had a permanent name, though.

David i presume you are refering to the Schikane section as named at http://www.silhouet....racks/oster.jpg or are you refering to the Hella Licht Kurve?

Of course the one that Stefan Johansson came across in 1987 was not quite as lucky.....

and that is the part of the track to which I was referring.

My choice is the section between Dr.Tiroch and the Bosch Kurve, It was bounded by a forested hillside. (Hence the deer crossing.) The track dropped toward the Bosch Kurve which had a large grandstand on the outside of the curve. I camped out with some friends on the hillside and worked out of the paddock.

It's what was originally known as the GlatzKurve, then became the Sebring-Auspuff Kurve ie The one after Hella-Licht. As far as I can tell, the photo was taken in 1974 when Reutemann beat his team mate Pace in a Brabham 1-2.

this is definately thr Glatzkurve. The piece of track in the top left background is the fast downhill sweep immediately after the Hella Licht chicane. There is a wooded mound behind this - the new circuit now runs the other side of the mound, straight after turn 1.

From what point on was the Glatzkurve called Dr Tiroch Kurve. Were there any other corner name changes at all?

I believe that Hella Licht was originally called the Mercedes-Kurve.

Also I think the section between Mercedes & Glatz was known as Flatschach.

As noted earlier, GlatzKurve became Sebring-Auspuff Kurve then Dr Tiroch.

I don't think any other name changes occurred elsewhere .

Afraid I don't know the timing of the changes.

Chris
