Although the above link focuses on Tim's acting career, we knew him through his automotive work.

There are many works which we have enjoyed, most notably perhaps American Grand Prix Racing: A Century of Drivers and Cars but also Twice Around The Clock: The Yanks at Le Mans

I spent many years in correspondence with Tim, especially discussing Boris Said and some of the lesser known, but very fascinating American drivers.

I'm very sorry to hear this news. Sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Terrible news. Jim Sitz told it to me earlier today. "TC" was a pleasure to work with and we enjoyed supplying some photos for Twice Around the Clock.

Such a nice guy. RIP

That is awful, an old friend gone.

No more hour-long calls with a charming, witty, multi-talented man. No more mad emails, chasing obscure players at La Sarthe.

One achievement that was missed by the Hollywoodreporter was shooting the album cover for Joni Mitchell's Blue.

Tim, it was a privilege to know you.

Wow! I had no idea.

Goodness, the things you learn on TNF. I was aware of his books, and distinctly remember him from the TV show “My Three Sons,” which I watched as a kid. Never would have realized they were the same person.
My condolences, of course, to the family.

He had one of the most varied, and accomplished, lives imaginable, even without having walked arm in arm with Annette Funicello:

I remember his books being published in the 1990's, and the TV series from the 1960's (though I watched it after his character was written out).

Like some others here, I had not made recognized the name and made the connection!  An interesting and varied life indeed!
