I've earmarked Monza as my race this year, but there still seems to be no tickets available. Does anybody know when they are likely to go on sale or what is causing the delay? (COVID reasons?)

Yeah I got mine the other week in the end, down at 21A Parabolica. Should be fun!

Hi all,

I'm looking at going to Monza this year, I was wondering what recommendations people have? It will be my first ever grand prix so I'm not well versed on the usual hints and tips!

Is it better to get a general admission ticket or a grandstand ticket? The grandstand tickets I can find right now don't appear to be near a screen.

Hotel and travelling tips would also be good, along with how early to get to the circuit and what to do around there. :)

Probably you have made your choice already. But Ive been to Monza 3 times. 2 times on a GA ticket and 1 time on the main Grand Stand.

My experience with a GA ticket is that there are a lot of places to follow the race in a proper way. And youll be quite surprised which places around the track you can visit. TV hardly shows it, but there is a whole area around Lesmo 2 that you simply are not aware of when yhave never visited. Thats a great vantage point to name my first tip. When I was there the last time, in 2018, there was a screen there. Also around the Ascari Chicane and alongside the straight towards the Alboreto Parabolica, there are tonnes of places to watch the race.

On the Grand Stand, there is nothing much to add. All Grand Stands are serviced with TV screens and have got its pro's and con's. The any Grand Stand on the main straight is worth while because you are likely to see overtaking, as its the only real overtaking spot on track. But this is seeing the cars flash by quite quickly. Grand Stands at the Lesmo's and the Ascari are fun to behold because you can see the cars on their absolute limit. So its just a matter of taste where you want to be seated.

But things to take into consideration;

- Travel can be done by public transport or by car. If you search well enough, you will find a parking space close to the circuit in one of the surrounding neighborhoods. We litterally once parked the car 2 minutes walking from the main Grand Stand entrance.

- After a days visit at the track, restaurants close by are a welcome site to sit down and talk the day through, before heading towards your car, the train stations or buses which are not as crowded anymore by then compared to before your dinner.

- On Thursday there usually is something F1 or Ferrari related thing happening in Milan. Always worth a visit.

- Hotels, I cant name any because I went those times by car and could stay at a friends house some 40kms away from the circuit.

- Enjoy the old circuit as well. Walk the banked curve if stewards are not looking or when they let you after some Ferrari smalltalk.

- Ive heard that frisking and bag inspection has become more strict. So despite me having had the pleasure of always being on track within mere minutes of arrival, this could have changed for the worse. But my credo; if you have a GA ticket, better be on the circuit before 8.30. Else your eyed spot might be gone already.
