Hi

I saw on the BT forum that people in the UK who watch F1 on BT TV (which uses Now TV Sports)  experience very little latency or lag, because it uses multicast technology.

Is there anyone here in the F1 community who could back that up?

In the past I've watched F1 using the Now TV app on my Smart TV.  I experienced a lag of up to 90 seconds, and it became increasingly hard to synchronise to Live Timing after F1 took over the Live Timing app - their sync functionality is still quite clunky compared to the old Live Timing app.

I currently have a Sky Sports subscription, via the Sky Q box, and there seems to be no lag at all. I never have to synchronise with Live Timing during the race. I don't want or need any of the fancy red button functionality that Sky offers, but I do like to watch the race "live" rather than a minute or two behind everyone else. And Live Timing is something that enhances my enjoyment of F1, so I like having them both synchronised.

I'd find it hard to go back to using Now TV in the way I used to, but if the lag on BT TV isn't too bad it could be an cost-saving option for me.
