Indeed. Little wonder Dunlop advised their runners to withdraw from the seven lapper. Alistair Seeley said that on seeing the chunks that he thought it was plastic. His Metzelers were fine.

I know the track temps went as high as 34°, in the greater scheme of things, that's inconsequential. Tyres, under no circumstances, should disintegrate at that kind of track temperature. Imagine if someone were seriously injured, they really need to get their act together.

Not saying much for quality control then. The tyre supposedly goes through x ray testing to establish cohesion between layers. Something not quite right there then. I'm sick to my back teeth of tyre manufactures shrugging their shoulders and blaming a bad batch. They're putting riders, and drivers, lives at risk here with total impunity.They say it was a faulty batch so will see, hopefully they can confirm that.

Holy mother of god. This is a disgrace. Clearly, this is what broke Seeley's windscreen. Imagine the consequences had it hit him directly in the head.
