Entry list below -- just 33 this year, which I suppose will make qualifying feel a little different as no one will miss the cut. That said, as usual it's a good mix of veterans, stars, rookies, hard-triers and whatever Marco is.

Odd that Tony Kanaan is driving car number 1, when his teammate and the actual champion is in 10

Car number one: odd
Car number ten: even
Checks out!

In memory of Robin Miller.
I can't believe jp did not take Victor and I to this place in 2018.

Santino Ferrucci's Indy 500 finishes read 7th, 4th, 6th. What's the next step? He's with Dreyer & Reinbold this year, so I'm not overly hopeful.

I look forward to the reporting here. I won't be able to catch any of the preliminary activity due to work.

Do I need to find time to come back in 2024?

These are always a couple of the best work weeks of the year.

Me-ow!
Posted 17 May 2022 - 13:18
Honestly I completely forgot Marco is coming back for this one.

Screw it, I'll be picking Hildebrand for pole and win. Only because I think he is a good guy.

A nice redemption story will be welcome.

Hey Paul,
Just to let you know that I might need your help shortly for an Indycar of the past carrying number 21 nowadays.
But not about this particular #21......
Anyway Indycarfans, Here's my contribution this year to celebrate "Opening Day",
because I have nothing to mention about this year's race but still to make at least one post within this thread to prove I was around briefly.
And some diehard veterans might have an interest for this piece of Indycar history.
Also presented on behalf of my partner with who I carried out this project.
Have a good time everyone!

Stefan Wilson is doing his refresher.
Posted 17 May 2022 - 19:55
Scot Dixon will obviously win.
Posted 17 May 2022 - 20:54
Oh no, Rosenqvist is running the Puke Green livery.
Posted 17 May 2022 - 21:06
Stefan Wilson's accent is all over the place

Happy Hour!

A bunch of nutters trying to be tow heroes... Scottie Mac got out of the car because of the craziness.

I can't get IndyCar Live full screen, but I can't complain. I remember watching this stuff on a 6 inch X 6 inch (15 cm X 15 cm) little Windows Media viewer in 2001, on dial-up...

We'll end up with Ericsson and some sort of Huski Chocolate Milk victory lane schmozzle.
(I want PR royalties when this occurs)

Interesting: 8 former winners on the grid. Probably not a record, but still quite many.
I'm rooting for Scott Dixon and Marco Andretti, I guess, although Carpenter (finally) would be cool, too.
But as long as the race is good, I'm at peace with any winner.
Posted 18 May 2022 - 07:58
Same. For ages I've been firmly in the Helio camp, but since he finally got his fourth (and I don't htink he should win a fifth) I am completely impartial. A first time winner would be nice, maybe Ericsson, Special Ed or even Jo New.
