I am forced to begin with sad news. Unless your moderator has even more duff eyesight than previously believed, Zepter, beloved purveyors of high end, yet hugely diverse gubbins, seems to be no longer sponsoring this thing. What a shame! Your legacy will live on in the form of classic race reviews. My thanks for letting me get through the less than classic races by idly wondering who you are and what you do.

In happier news, the Charles Leclerc Monaco redemption arc moves ever closer to completion as does the possible those who have been picturing the principality getting to hear their own anthem played from the podium. Will the Prince pinch Charles' cheek in avuncular fashion and yell 'that's my boy!'? We wait to see.

This is the starting grid, following a storming set of laps and a comedy pile up stopping any chance of beating them:

This is the tyres available to each driver

Will it rain?

Not looking good.

Buenos días. Unas pocas nubes , pero soledo aquí en Mónaco. Previsiones dicen 30% lluvia para la carrera.
Good morning. A few clouds, but sunny here in Mónaco. Forecast says 30% rain for the race. #f1 #MonacoGP

Very suprised to see how fast the cars go in Monaco.

Always looking forward to this race but it seldom deliveres. You can just win the race with no top gear, or with a compromised engine, or whatever. That's not racing.

Sunshine for the Porsche Super Cup and it all looks very dry.

It's today now, you know what they mean. They are correct:

Also, tiny moment of amusement as Lewis devilishly sneaks past George to jump the queue for the pen interviews:

Boo. The only thing that could save this was the weather.

I'll stick to the N24 + BTCC + INDY then. Still plenty.

Perhaps it'll be like 2012, when rain fell in quantities too small to really affect anything.

Even without rain, is looking like it might be a lot cooler. Tyre warm up may become an issue again, making an overcut suitable like it usually is around here.

Maybe Perez will get the undercut then.

I think Red Bull can do something with strategy to either under or overcut the Ferrari's. If they have the race speed though.

I think this is not going to be hard for Leclerc, despite any anomalies. He is way quicker than Sainz and the RB’s whole weekend. He would deserve it here.

Ferrari confirms it has changed Sainz's gearbox as a precaution after yesterday's crash in qualy - no penalty though as within the season pool #F1 #MonacoGP

Technically speaking we're mourning a logo, or an exotic word printed on a blue background.

And they've put the price of the ham and cheese sandwich up by 50 cents at Augusta. The world is crashing down around us!

Among other things, 50-euro tupperware boxes

I know Zepter for kitchenware and dining table crockery, but apparently they also do wrist watches, so no doubt that's why they've been booted out.

The Ferrari floor doesn’t look near as complicated as RBR.

Even a few drops can create chaos in Monaco. What do you do if there are a few drops, not enough for intermediates but enough to make staying out of barriers extra challenging?

I think there is a whole thread on much-mourned/missed sponsors, somewhere deep in the matrix.

It’s the familiarity, the logo which we miss, not the actual company.

My controller works again! :D

Meaning: I can watch the race on TV this time.

Along with a cheesecake with strawberry sauce.

I was almost like **** you Monaco, but now I'm in tune..

My message to Lewis. Shut up and drive. P4 is manageable.

Yeah based on the forecast it's basically just going to be dry and grey. Only possibility is if rain unexpectedly develops in the mountains.

Bummer..but yeah thats weatherforecats in a nutshell 80% now flipped to 30%...(weather forecast betting futures sites   :smoking: money ad' libitum )

A shame, as rain could definately have spiced it up..and that is something Monaco often can use, a little seasoning)
