There was a couple of changes in the event notes this morning corcerning the pit entry/exit lines:

12.3 The dashed white line at the pit entry defines the track edge. For safety reasons, no tyre of any car continuing on the track, may cross that line.

12.5 Relevant white line at pit exit as per Appendix L, Chapter 4, Article 5. [picture with an arrow pointing at the white line that defines the edge of the pit exit, not the white line on the other end of the painted area that defines the edge of the track]

The pit stop time loss last year seemed to have a range between 18.5 and 23.3 seconds. The modified pit entry looks pretty much the same, so I don't think it will make any difference.

My guess is they removed that part because it contradicts the sporting regs regarding track limits.

It beggars belief really. It's a rule that's been in place for many years, had never been disputed, and suddenly it's just become a complete mess for no reason at all.

What was the Magny Cours race where loads of drivers got penalties for crossing the line? 2003/04 time? That was funny but also very clear cut and slam dunk offences. If that happened now it would be chaos in terms of mid-race investigations.

It does look like F1 went out of their way to clash with Le mans as much as possible...

Of course that is just looking at session start times and ignoring things like support races and the sun which I am sure is whats actually responsible.
