Didn't they try the spotter thing before, I seem to remember Brundle commenting on his surprise that a race engineer was spotting for a driver into T1 on the first lap. I dunno why I've got Sato and Indianapolis in my brain, but I'm not sure if that's correct. But someone definitely did it in one race years ago.

Any thoughts on Gasly smashing into Hamilton? Good grief. Lucky escape for Albon/Williams finances considering Zhou last weekend....Why do drivers have to get their races ruined because someone else's awareness is lacking?

Gasly would have benefitted from a spotter there.

Indeed, I don't see a lot of discussion about the start of the sprint, while the incident had quite similar dynamics to the crash at Silverstone, although with less dramatic consequences.

It wasn't common to see that kind of crash in previous years and I wonder if it might be down to worse visibility due to the new regulations.

Because racing a car is difficult and they've been crashing into each other since before the adoption of mass starts.

Gasly was an idiot there.
Nothing to see from the stewards either in Silverstone or here.

it seems to be cool to flip cars in Silverstone or bump into them in Austria.

Not related to this thread, but again, T1 in Austria it seems to be fine to just floor it wide.
