Evans had quite a scary moment while fixing that left rear damper. The jack was tilted and failed while he had his head inside the wheel arc:

Looks like Lappi really wants to drive with a broken windscreen.  

 

 

If he manages to maintain the third position or even finish the rally, it will be kind of a miracle.

Listening to the Rally radio: Lappi made it to the regroup in time.

 

But... Janne Ferm kicked the broken windscreen off so they will drive the final stage with rather a refreshing air flow.

Big and pointless mistake from Esapekka, he had no need to push on that stage and yet he did, now he will be lucky to finish the rally and get a podium, but can kiss goodbye for power stage points.

Tänak has driven well and deserves to win.

Congratulations to Tänak, a very well deserved win. Also the first Hyundai win in Jyväskylä (they got their first in Finland with Tänak in Arctic Rally)

 

I know Lappi made an unnecessary unforced error by his triple roll, but combined with his latter efforts of fixing the car, removing the windscreen, driving with goggles, and blowing the roof off on the last stage provided very good entertainment.  

 

Rovanperä has now 94 point lead in the championship. Difficult to see he will lose that over the remaining five races.

Had fun being there live, big increase in spectators, but sadly quite many problems with spectators and their behaviour sadly. These new cars are really exciting, hope that some new manufacturer joins!
