If this has been done before, I apologize, I haven’t seen it. A lot is made of the driver performance and it is hotly debated in the driver rating thread. One thing that gets overlooked in that is the team portion of this sport. A driver could have a great race ruined by the team, or driver can ruin a perfect strategy by putting the car in the barriers.

So, for each race, how did the team do? Was the pit crew on point or did the fluff the stop? Did the pit wall bungle the strategy? The rating should be based on the team performance, not just how fast the car is. Let’s see, along with the driver ratings, which driver/team combos work and which have been a let down.

Is that the points table? I guess you just post the same in the driver rating thread as well? The point was to see how well the race crew did each weekend. But fair enough if that is your view on the importance of the race team.

No, the drivers are limited by the equipment they have and it's outside their control. The teams, however, consist of design engineers, on track engineers, mechanics, strategists and drivers and their cumulative effort is well reflected by the points table.

If you meant to exclude certain elements of the team from the ratings, you could have made it more clear in the OP. I don't want to discourage any discussion, though, don't take it personally. :)

Yes but there is also the bad luck element. Someone taking you out is not the drivers or teams/engineers fault.

True, although I don't think it usually changes the WCC standings that much all things considered, you're free to challenge my ratings based on that. :p

Well with less bad luck from Vettel, Aston Karting could have more points than Alpha Tauri.
