I voted 4. The racing is good but I’m lost with the timings - it seems to be all over the place and I’ve even missed whole races because I can’t be sure what time it starts.

There's an easy fix for that - Formula 1's official website automatically converts and shows the next race's sessions times to your time zone on its front page. All you have to do is scroll down a bit.

The Autosport home page does the same.

Best season since 2013.

The only thing I truly despise from this one is the TV coverage.

I would give this season 8/10 up to this point, most of the races have been enjoyable to watch and the new regulations have succeeded in permitting closer racing between cars at most circuits. The main thing preventing me from giving this year a higher rating is the lack of excitement in the world championships - it seems increasingly likely that Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing will win the respective titles and will probably do so before the final race. Before the British GP, I felt that Ferrari and Leclerc needed to win at least two of the four races before the summer break to keep the championship alive. Ferrari succeeded in this regard but Leclerc fell short, more importantly though the last two races have seen Leclerc score just 8 points to Verstappen's 50, leaving him even further behind in the standings. It's not completely over yet, but I predict it will be practically over after the next triple header.

From a competitive point of view, Red Bull may have won over half the GPs this season, but they have been challenged in most of those races  and Ferrari's growing list of operational errors should not disguise their car's genuine race winning speed - this year has been nowhere near the Mercedes domination of 2014-16 and 2020. I think the resurgence of Mercedes in recent races has been welcome as it has made competition near the front more intense, making me wonder whether I was too hasty when I predicted that they would not win a race this year, although I stand by my prediction that it will be Lewis Hamilton who does win if the opportunity arises. Another positive is that no teams have been cut adrift at the back of the field, Williams may be some way adrift at the bottom of the constructors standings but they have scored points and in Albon's hands have shown reasonably respectable pace, with the other teams all looking competitive enough to score points on merit at several races. On the minus side, the top three teams are well clear of the rest of the field and the likelihood of surprise podium visits or winners from midfield teams has receded after victories for Gasly/Alpha Tauri and Ocon/Alpine in the last two years.

In my opinion the best race of the season so far is the British GP (I don't think I got around to voting in the rate in the race thread but I would have given it 10/10, as it was a thrilling and unpredictable race with numerous overtakes for top positions and several realistic potential winners) with the Azerbaijan GP being the least memorable (I gave it 4/10, once the Ferraris retired there wasn't a lot of interest near the front of the field and it fell well short of the excitement seen in Baku previously)

8/10
Could have been much better without Ferrari’s incompetence.

Agree with Highway Star about the ‘threat’ from midfield teams, and with it the potential for genuinely surprising winners, receding this season. That’s been a real shame. Seeing Aston Martin, AlphaTauri and McLaren regressing so badly has been a real negative of this season. I consider Alpine have done a good job to pretty much hold their position, and Haas/Alfa Romeo have done well to move forward but I kinda think they only moved into the spaces left by other midfield teams who’ve done a worse job.

It’s been very good. Shame that Ferrari and Leclerc have given up so many points. Difficult for anyone to challenge Max and RB for the championships now. But I am extremely excited by the prospect of having six cars capable of winning in the coming races. Mercedes have made a turn around that few teams are capable of doing.

Racing has been good. Although I still don’t like DRS. Few people talk about Pirelli anymore, I think the tyres these days are great and create.

I give it nine. For me, what matters is how spectacular the cars are and how tense the racing is. I also like being impressed by brilliant displays of skill (and reminded of how difficult it is by the occasional error). This season is grrrrreat...

Championships are sort of interesting, but a table of figures is not what it's all about (for me). Improve the circuits and I'd give it ten.

Season itself has been good. The new regulations seems to have paid off, with even overtaking happening on tracks and corners where it wasn’t possible in earlier seasons. The battles between Verstappen and Leclerc early on were good as well. But I feel the second half of the season will be like 2013 when Vettel ran away with it. Ferrari aren’t stable enough and should be looking at Mercedes now instead of Red Bull. Not a good thing.

Voted 9 especially now that Mercedes is more or less in the mix as well. We have 3 teams fighting for pole and wins. Lots of battles and overtaking. Hardly any dominating wins from pole. All cars capable of scoring points. Worste driver on the grid topping a practice session. Lots of unpredictability I really dont understand how people can vote 7 or less and what their expectations are.

I gave it a 7 but actually it probably deserved an 8. But the last option got me thinking about what the actual greatest season of all time was. In my opinion the greatest season ever was 1976, but I would also give honourable mentions to 1964, 1967, 1973, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1986, 1997, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2021.
