Elizabeth isn't unknown, though not known around these parts, as she's not an Indycar beat reporter in the Robin Miller circle of high cholesterol.

And it comes as Jenna Fryer was complaining that quite a few IndyCar drivers teams aren't collaborative with media. Jalopnik is far, far from being unknown as an automotive media. It speaks more about the current mainstream popularity of IndyCar if there are not more replies under her post.

No media needs to be covering IndyCar. It's a choice, not an obligation.

Unknown?  She's (in)famous around these parts, as I inadvertently discovered, for being accused of using the "Rich Energy" thread as a source of material without attribution in her recent book.

That’s hysterical rs.
From what I’ve heard she’s not the only one plagiarizing our community.

On a much more joyous note.

That was mega - watching the race I couldn't believe how he was slicing through the field.

I think we can say that he's sorted one of his weaknesses - restarts - from last season

Accused of using the thread as a source... much as the book's yet to be published. All that reeked of arrogant stupidity w. a side order of misogyny.

An unknown media person complains that they can’t find media center.

Blames not getting the info on spam then spends a couple of days wandering around the track without trying to contact ICS media.  There are Indycar offices and hospitality in the paddock usually next to race control.  Plus ICS monitors social media.  It doesn’t sound like she’s been to an ICS race before.

The consternation comes from a piece they did for Jalopnik a few years ago.

For alot of last year, he just looked like he was hanging on, driving soley on his wits.

He looks like he's been racing high power, high downforce single seaters all his life now. Confidently putting moves on the best in the business. Incredible talent.

He hasn't been able to hook it up all year, but McLaughlin... he's outrageously talented. Incredibly impressive.

As a huge supporter of McLaughlin since his early Volvo days in Supercars I am so happy that he has fully justified his position at Penske. I always believed he would crack Indycar; the at times stuttering start last year was only to be expected with so little single seater experience.

Maybe it was just hope on my part, but I do believe I saw something in him way back then that marked him out as a special talent, and he has the work ethos to go with it. Supercars loss (with SVG now walking it) is Indycars gain, as he's not just a great talent but a genuinely top bloke.

While I don't doubt that part of it, as Jenna Fryer has received a ridiculous amount that seems primarily gender based (thank you Twitter!), I am utterly unimpressed by the generally poor level of research and writing at Jalopnik.

Time for Ganassi to go equally bold and sign Van Gisbergen….

JoNew's weekend review. Not a word about Grosjean.
