Well, my local circuit may lack the glitz and glamour of Goodwood , or the windswept acreage of Silverstone , but we have a cracking meeting this weekend. It's a long time since such a field of 70s F2 Atlantic and F3 cars (Modus Brabham, March , Chevron, Lola and even an Ehrlich ) m have been seen here ,as well as FF1600 and FF2000 etc. And how splendid it is to see one time F5000 hero Mike Walker still racing , this time in a Brabham BT21 F3 and also long time HSCC supporter Steve Nichols in FF2000.

Oddly enough, there was no sign of Gordon Murray cheering him on.

Reminds me of 'Indylantic' — a strange packaging for Formula Atlantic — that ran at Croft and elsewhere.

Steve Nichols is actually racing his Chevron B17 in Historic F3. Unfortunately the Ehrlich ended the day badly yesterday...

I have a horrible feeling that, after he takes the car apart, John Hayes-Harlow won't be saying "Actually, the car's not as bad as I thought".

Alan, I think that's exactly what I've seen John post somewhere......

I'd forgotten all about Indy Atlantic. I believe it was a sort of rebranding of Formula Atlantic in an attempt to revive a flagging formula. I just checked and it only ran for one season - 1976. It did visit Croft in May of that year.

Irony was Pete, that Atlantic was booming in 75, not flagging. Though the powers that be at the BARC and BRDC put their collective weight behind the duller, IMHO, F3 and didn't back FAt. Great shame. Indylantic wasn;t bad, but didn't have the depth and quality of field that FAt had in 73-75 here
