[Jeff Weinbren]

Looking for any info on a JR Jeffery BRDC member. I have been in contact with the BRDC as well as Prescott both who have been kind enough to try and find info but never came up with anything definite. Adam Ferrington and Brooklands Museum have also tried to find any info but there is a lot of confusion between JR Jeffery, JR Jeffrey, JR Jeffress, JA Jeffrey and hence the confusion. Any help would be appreciated,

Could it be the Sydney Australia classic car collector of the 1950s and 60s Jack Jeffrey (different spelling)

 

As a friend in Melbourne has a BRDC club badge with Jack Jeffrey punched inits rear ..

Dick Jeffrey - genial long-time competitions manager of Dunlop Tyres - was a very influential and popular industry figure who placed support and sponsorship with drivers and teams across quite a wide range of motor sport, later 1950s and on through the 1960s.  However, his initials were R.H.... so not him then.

I’m new to this forum.

 

I just noticed passing reference in this thread to J R Jeffress.

 

Joseph Jeffress was my great uncle.

He joined the BRDC in 1928, and raced at Brooklands between 1928 and 1932, driving Alfa Romeo, Bugatti and MG.

Thank you all for responses received to date. My dilemma is that the BRDC badge that I have is definitely stamped JR Jeffrey. It is possibly a spelling error? Perhaps it should be JR Jeffress? It is a real mystery as I mentioned earlier neither the BRDC historian nor the Brooklands museum or Prescott,although very helpful, have not been able to find anything definitive. I am at a loss so any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is why i think its Jack Jeffrey of Sydney Australia , WHO was a BRDC member .With a friend now in keeping of his BRDC car badge with his name stamped on the back.

Jeff Weinbren: Where are you located with the BRDC badge? Where did you get it? The one in Australia is a different badge?

The badge was bought from an Australian auction house, I tried contacting the Australian Racing Drivers club but with no response! Having never seen the one in Australia I'm not sure if it possibly not one and the same?!

There was a guy in Melbourne for a while printnig window transfers for BRDC    So wrong .
