I've been told that, amid all of the other news yesterday, Mike Blanchet died.

Well known both as a racer and for his involvement in Lola.

 

I can't, as yet, see any details about the circumstances. Another notable figure sadly lost from our little world.

Yes, sad news indeed. We were pals many years ago, classmates at grammar school and competitors at our local club. Nice guy.

I do believe his beloved wife Pat died earlier this year which probably hastened his decline. Sad news, RIP.

He has also been a regular, and significant , contributor to Racecar Engineering so not just an  historic figure.

Sad to see this.  A good guy and a terrifically competitive individual but with fair play always as his standard.
