f

24 cars started the main race , there were two red flag incidents for crashes , one involving 5 cars. Despite the cars being tube framed and lighter than F1 cars no injuries thanks to massive roll cages around the driver. The safety crews were in action inside 20 seconds and at the accident in 40 seconds. The rqce was restrarted within 20 minutes ansd finished within the programe timetable

Are Supercars really lighter than F1 cars? Wow!

At a minimum, 2022 F1 cars are 798KG minimum.

Sorry, what’s the OP about?

Bathurst 1000.

Wasn't a classic by any means but started in the wet and ended in the dry. 8 safety car deployments in total but didn't sour the race too much.

Shane Van Gisbergen is seriously impressive. Last drive for this gen of Ford/Holden, onto new Mustangs and Camaros next year :smoking:

It surely isn’t about the Bathurst 1000 as it has several factual discrepancies from that.

And if we disregarded those it isn’t like Aussie V8s hasn’t had its own share of officiating controversy down the years.

Title edited so people know what you’re talking about.

You might want to check the weights of the cars though.

Yeah I certainly don't think it's about Bathurst - apart from the weight relative to F1 being wrong, there were no red flags and there were also more than 24 cars starting the race.

No idea what race the OP was refering too, but would be nice if they could clarify what race/series they were posting about :)

I thought it was about the Aussie Racing Cars:

Would be right with tube frame, lighter than F1, and possibly even 24 cars as seen in the clip above.

However... They didn't race at Bathurst  :drunk:
