Hi everyone

 

As I posted here in the Racing comments forum I have created a huge ranking of racing drivers from 1894 to today.

 

I am however missing some information about quite a lot of them. I have been unable to find a birth year for 500 of the more than 6000 drivers included.

 

So I hope some of you might have that information or maybe even help me find it. It would be highly appreciated.

 

I'm not going to list all of the 500 drivers here - only some of the more notable. If you are indeed interested in the full list please let me know.

Doc Shepherd's real name was George Corbyn Shepherd.

Shepherd's wiki page must have been updated since I last visited it since it didn't include his birth and dead years before. 

 

I will make sure to check out that thread. Looks impressive!

Harold Purdy was Australian.

He was born on 13th February 1902, in Sydney, NSW.

So I was able to find the birth years of more than 100 drivers missing that information in my project by searching through ReWind's amazing thread, but there is still a long way to go!

 

I have updated the OP with some new drivers that I really hope some of you have some information on.

Al Bacon is Larry Alan Bacon, a dentist from Kingsport, Tennessee, born on 05 November 1946.

 

Mendel Harry Grey is listed in the „Lives on 4 wheels“ thread as Sonny Grey. Recently I discovered that he was NOT born in 1915, but in 1913. I just amended his entry.

It's been a few months, but I still haven't found birth years for all the drivers mentioned above and many more.

 

I have already had incredible help from some forum members. If anyone else know anything about these drivers, please let me know.

I've spent 20 years now trying to find Vincenzo Trucco's birthdate, so there's plenty of time to keep searching yet.
