Bonovo BMWs’ Loris Baz was handed a €1000 fine for giving Axel Bassani the bird after the Italian nerfed him off in yesterdays second WSB race at San Juan.

Baz had his middle finger raised before his satellite M1000RR had barely hit the ground and, because it was live on TV, the stewards decided to penalise the Frenchman.

 

I was not aware that Mary Whitehouse was a steward at WSK events!!!!!!!!

Have you heard anything so ridiculous in your life. The race a'holes  will be wanting to ban top works riders for supporting their less well off privateer brethren next. 

 

Any more examples of race direction and stewards out of touch with the real world

Thanks for sharing. Reminds me of the time that Fernando Alonso was sent spinning backwards out of the tunnel at Monaco with half his wheels, but made sure the bird was on display at full mast mid-crash for the driver who hit him.

Perhaps he should adopt Red Bull's approach and negotiate with them as to whether he will accept that he broke the rules according to his interpretation of them and then he can decide whether or how much he is willing to pay.
