Congratulations!
Doug's books were a big part of my childhood attempts at hoovering up knowledge of motorsport past and present. In particular his book on McLaren grand prix, can-am and IndyCars gave me so much detailed information that I can still remember reading it in my bedroom 35+ years on. A thoroughly deserved award.

Wonderful news and a credit to DCN for all of his hard work in unearthing the stories and relating them for us to enjoy and learn. Keep up the good work

Congratulations! While the award is for the achievements of one lifetime, in fact Mr. D. C. Nye is the finest motor racing author of all our lifetimes.
(PS Was there a ceremonial hat? If so a picture would be appreciated.)

"More silverware to polish!" I hear Mrs. Nye saying...
Irrespective of that, Doug, good work and we always look forward to your next efforts.

Well deserved would be an understatement.
May I humbly suggest that the award be renamed in honor of DCN ?

Truly a recognition of the fact that many of us, seeking information on a particular motorsport topic, first ask "I wonder if DCN has covered that..?" Congratulations, well deserved!

Congratulations!
I endorse all the previous comments. (Except DCN's of course! )

Many thanks to the author of many of my racing books. I see his name here, and I see it on my bookshelves. How cool!

Congratulations Doug and sincerest thanks for all of your work.
Thanks to your knowledge, passion and dedication to writing I have learned a huge amount, you have immeasurably added to my enjoyment and understanding of our wonderful sport.
If I were allowed 5 ‘Desert Island’ books 2 of them would be Doug’s History of the Grand Prix Car Volumes and for when my arms ached I would pick up the 2nd edition of Theme Lotus.
Regards Mike

I`d rather take Doug with me to the island...

Many congratulations. Thoroughly deserved. I've been reading DCN for almost as long as I can remember and continue to do so. Like many, a lot of his works are on my shelves and are the 'go to' books on so many subjects.

I bought a copy in '85 while working for the Jim Russell school at Riverside, CA. It was the first of many of his works.

Congratulations to Doug Nye - a name I have learned to respect for knowledge and fact finding through TNF, but now recognises through books and articles written before I was even born!
..but somehow, throughout the years and posts, I always seems to confuse him with H. Donald Capps! Any reason or similarity?

Congratulations Doug!! Well deserved award. I started reading Doug's articles in Road & Track magazine in the 1970's when I was a teenager in high school. My first book purchase was Theme Lotus in the 1980's and has continued all the way to Inside Track and Vanwall in the past year.

Heartfelt Congratulations. I have known you are this good ever since I read your first title. And many have followed. Reputation still unblemished. A lifetime achievement award is the right thing to honor you.
