It is the last day of the racing term so hopefully you've all remembered you didn't have to wear your uniform and that you brought in board games to  play with.

The WCC and WDC winners are long decided, so what's left? 2nd place in the WDC which is seemingly something the drivers suddenly give a rat's ass about this year so good luck, Checo and Leclerc , I guess.

There's also the little matter of some undecided constructor places:

19 points between Ferrari and Mercedes 19 points between Alpine and McLaren #BrazilGP #F1

As to the race...

Max Verstappen will be starting from pole, rest of the grid lines up like this:

Hard to read Tyres graphic, care of Pirelli motorsport twitter:

When is it on?

1300 GMT, rest of times here:

Saying goodbye to:

Nicholas Latifi. Goodbye, Nicholas - never quite came together for you in F1 but you seemed a nice enough person and I always found the 'goatifi' thing a tiny bit unecessary. Best of luck in what you do next. Bye also to Mick Schumacher who is probably going to Mercedes as a reserve driver. Farewell also to Daniel Ricciardo. A shame, as I feel this is one where potential never quite got fulfilled - always felt he'd maybe manage to get a WDC but eh. I'm glad he finally got his Monaco win at at least.

And of course, farewell to Sebastian Vettel. A lovely tribute being paid to him here from his old man:

Enjoy the race and the off season, folks!

Not expecting much battling for first, but hopefully Perez and the Mercs/Ferraris have a good scrap. Also hoping for some good fighting in the midfield.

It's likely to be incredibly dull (as last year's race was, minus last lap controversy), and with no championship jeopardy I can't see much chance of some excitement.

But it's still an F1 race and I'll miss it for the winter, as ever. I just bought my Bahrain tickets today too. So that's nice.

yeah, the race is often a bit of a stinker but you never know with live sport and there’s a long time to the next one.

Although I admit I also do like not having F1 having its iron grip on so many of my weekends.

Via McLaren on twitter, the team are donning novelty hats to pay tribute to Danny Ric

I'm probably going to give this one a miss, so if it's an action-packed classic, you know who to thank.

I honestly reckon they tried their best to find cork hats and these were the closest they could find. Or else all this time they have thought Dan’s American.

I’m sure the drivers & travelling members of the teams will be pleased to have a good winter break this year. Although imagine back at the factories they will be working flat out .

I dont want to be that guy .... but ... is just a job, working in an f1 factory - they work normal work days and normal hours - and get normal holidays - like pretty much everybody else. ... maybe some overtime now and then at crucial points (like everywhere else) - but honestly, its just a job .... at least thats what folks who work in F1 tell me.

I am so over Formula 1 ....

Indeed. And it will finish just in time to start watching the fellow $$$ world sporting event that is the Qatar World Cup opening ceremony.

So I think I've just written "VET" and "RIC" on a pit stop chart for the last time.

Let's just hope it's not a dull race.

But hey, it cannot be worse than the opening match of the football championship..

I think that's the only good thing about this race.

I dont know why, but this is the race I'm least looking forward to in years. Brazil would have been a much better season ending. I'll still put it on of course and I hope it'll be entertaining!

They'll get stuck behind cars they can't pass?

So yeah, Vowles will almost certainly do it.

Max again talking about not continuing after his current contract. It seems to be a real possibility. If so, it just shows the downside of F1's insane calendar.

Pit stop time loss last year... Remember that race? Well, the average pit stop time loss was 21.7–22.4s, ranging from 20.9s to 23.4s. Except when there was a safety car, of course... And the (V)SC time loss seemed to be 15.9–17.4s on average, ranging from 11.6s to 22.8s [sic].

I had forgotten that Ricciardo has a grid penalty today. Three places due to the clash with Magnussen last week so he starts 13th.

You just 100% know that there'll be a safety car today where we'll need to allow all lapped cars to overtake...  :)

Indeed. Joe came across really well and felt privileged to be there.

As for Pep, considering Sky money is responsible for much of his success, he was an arse.

In the National Anthem-Military Prowess index, we pronounce Abu Dhabi as having a weak military.

That is all.

Red Bull's get in a tangle with the Ferrari duo. Hamilton unexpectedly leading. SC comes out. Verstappen has made his way back up into a distant 2nd position.

I have had zero interest in this weekend so far, but seeing as it is Seb's and (likely) Daniel's last race I will stay up for this one - unless they both get taken out at the first corner, then I am off to bed asap...
