The Bernie documentary sounds very interesting, especially to those of us who have watching F1 since the '60's. From what I've read I can't figure out how to watch it in the USA...
Anyone know??

Just finished it. loved it. Sadly not much " secret inside" info, but Bernie is not a rat, so i never expected that...
Posted 05 January 2023 - 21:54
So it sounds like it's just Bernie talking for eight hours while some archive footage is being shown?

Does he die at the end?
Posted 26 January 2023 - 01:57
I just finished it and it was great ! Fascinating guy and always has been. Ever since I read Sid’s book where he spoke Bernie’s high level,of intelligence I have looked at him differently.

Has anyone watched this in the USA? If so, what streaming service??

Now that this thread is here, I ask you all, if you bought or possess the book written by Bernie Ecclestone about his business history.
Was it sold with some 100000USD??? There about?
Is there a second-hand copy of the book circulating in the market???

Does he die at the end?
Nope, he did a deal with God. He is staying.

VPN? Pirate bay? Ask someone in a country who has access to it to record it, and send you a flash drive/DVD/download link?

Autosport's review of the documentary states that Ecclestone has made it for the benefit of his youngest son, Alexander Charles "Ace", who is two years old and may lose his father before he is able to form any memories of him.

To assist those in the UK.
If you have BT Sport you can get Discovery + for free.
https://www.bt.com/s.../discovery-plus

Discovery Plus do have some serious shady people behind them
"You can only log on from the country you have registered from".
In other words; SurfShark doesnt help
I'd better not go on holiday and want to see my programmes on Discovery Plus.

Jan 20Basically, if you have Sky, you can watch 'Lucky!' - just sign up, for free, to Discovery+
Nope. I haven't got around to upgrading my box so I can't get it. Guess I should upgrade at some point.

1. Ecclestone talks about the accident of Stuart-Lewis Evans, and he says something strange: that Evans had started to run away from the accident and that if he hadn’t he could have survived the accident? What did he mean? Wasn’t Evans, as logic states, trapped in the burning car?

Not seen Lucky, but my recollection is that Lewis-Evans ran in the opposite direction to the people who could help him. It's mentioned in Hawthorn's Champion Year.

I was able to watch the show a long time ago thanks to a friend who had it. But I just checked and it's available for any of you who have Discovery+. It's only 8 episodes, so even if you don't have a subscrtion, it's worth the 3.99 pounds to get one just for a month. I can't recommend it highly enough. Great commentary, much of which you've likely never heard before, as well as incredible footage that's likely rarely been seen before.
It's also apparently available to Prime Video subscribers in some areas, but apparently not here in the U.S.

The footage is great, but I would love to have an in-depth discussion about the spoken content delivered by Ecclestone. My impression is that the makers primarily have chosen to portray Ecclestone as a person with a lot of gravitas, a wise old man sitting on top of a snowy mountain delivering us wisdom on the brink between life, death and Olympus. The ending - with Ecclestone staring wistfully out over a lake and in the very last shot, laying on a bench reaching out to take over one of his grandchildren - was worthy of Leni Riefenstahl.
My impression: Bernie gave some new insights, a lot of self-promoting interpretations of historical events and, if I dare say, regularly lied through his teeth. Or if he did not lie, he has deluded himself and reinvented his own past (which humans are wont to do).

Many famous people write their memoirs. Lucky is Bernie's video memoirs. Like F1 Mike said, the only person speaking in the entire series (apart from snippets of archive footage) is Bernie Ecclestone.

Still want to watch this in the US. With the "new" popularity of F1 here I"m surprised we can't get it. Have the woke police hid it??
