Malone told me he thought Sterzo was nuts…

Ah, then he did heed his opinion.

Hitech GP f1 car at the old Mercedes windtunnel (now relocated to Silverstone):

So all the new teams had RB18/19 clones

I am really disappointed why Andretti and Hitech aren't allowed to join F1. They should really open to at least 12, better 13 teams.

And Rodin Motorsport, they would have been an excellent addition to F1 as well

FOM are a business that's not interested in sporting competition - just paying customers.

I think it's more Liberty Media than FOM.

FOM is wholly owned and run by Liberty. They are the commercial side of F1 and, as such, are rightly focused on the money. It's the FIA's job to look after the sport.

Formula One Management Ltd is owned by Formula One Group which is a publicaly traded company.  Majority equity ownership is in public stock but Liberty and Liberty allies control the majority voting shares.   Voting is about 6% of total shares.  Nice work if you can get it.  Most of the rest are institutional investors.  It’s divvied up similar to how Ecclestone had it structured.  FOM has the broadcast, organization and promotional rights and from that comes the team’s share.  FOWC owns the rights to the championship in total and a Dutch company owns the rights to the trademarks.  Allsport Management has the swag rights.  It’s a tidy little package.  When we say FOM it's really FOG but all the money comes from the same place.  FOG also owns Las Vegas Grand Prix
