Another I know of,, The Tailem Bend Racecourse where rallycross had been conducted 77-80 also had plans for a roadrace circuit around the outside of the rallycross track. This was part of the venue plans from the start. 

The venue was previously a horse race circuit with a decent grandstand and undercover parking as a pit area. NOT the venue now used which was the Mitsubishi test venue.  

Like so many clubs it got very hard to keep members as well as competitors and SAMRC folded after the 1980 rallycross series,

AIR were going to hold rallycross at AIR in later 81 and got as far as pegging out the proposed track.

Another that has been going on for ages ...

 

The "on-again" - "off-again" multi functional development at Ringwood, Raymond Terrace NSW. National level track, club level, speedway and drag strip all at the one venue.

 

For almost 20 years various groups have pushed to get this going - but now finally dead (until the next time a favourable council gets appointed!)

About the 1983 story about Oran Park being on the market for $1.5 million, I was invited to join in a consortium to buy Oran Park at the time. The Leppington Pastoral Company beat us to it. They only wanted it for the land but luckily they kept the track open for a few more decades. 
Who knows what the outcome would have been if us mugs had got it!

That's great news Dale. Still to the original multi use format?

That goose that wanted to run a race at Cronulla - he dreamed it up, made up a 'track' using a street directory and convinced Auto Action it was a goer - they ran it on their front page. He'd (as far as I know) never contacted the Council or any sanctioning body.

 

And then, yes, a few years later they did have a race (riot).

That's great news Dale. Still to the original multi use format?

No drag strip. I am not sure of any other uses except motorsport and the owner's personal use for his collection of fast cars.
