Who has had 6 hat tricks in a season? I don't think there's anybody?
I'll add Schumacher for 5 though
Just rechecked, nobody has 6 schumacher has indeed 5 in 2004, Ascario 5 in 1952 and Max 5 this season

Just amazing; and its hard to believe those records will be broken, even in a 24 race season. They have had no imperfections at all bar Singapore Qualifying.

Another record
Max now has scored 1.004 points in an unbroken streak from Imola 2022 till AD 2023. He is now first on that list who previously was led by Hamilton with 998 points and ended at the 2020 Sakhir GP due to a positive covid test. Disregarding covid, he failed to score points at Baku 2021 to break his streak.

Why RB/Max fans should be very optimistic for the following 2 years (at least) is because even if other teams fully catch up in terms of outright performance (which probably will happen if not in 2024 then most likely in 2025), I think they actually would need to have a small edge on RB if they are to have a good chance at the WDC seeing as the RB&Max combo is such a well oiled ultra low mistake making machine.

Best season ever by a driver, 19 wins, 10 in a row, current new streak of 7, more that double of Checo's points, Verstappen was on a mission.
The RB19 rightfully taking its place now as one of the greatest cars in history as well. Soak it in everyone!
Those are just numbers, yes they are spectacular numbers but numbers don't always tell the whole story. What's the most impressive for me is that Verstappen didn't put a foot wrong all season. And we had many wet races this year, long season, many opportunities to f* up. But he didn't. Even if he quits tomorrow, he'd still be the GOAT.
Posted 27 November 2023 - 12:35
I'd wait a few more years for GOAT statements, he's still so young and can go on and accomplish so much more.

Verstappen poaches new personal trainer from Sainz
Red Bull has found a new personal trainer for Max Verstappen in Rupert Manwaring following the departure of Bradley Scanes.
Max Verstappen has poached Carlos Sainz's personal trainer Rupert Manwaring ahead of the 2024 Formula 1 season.
Manwaring has worked with Sainz since his F1 debut in 2015, but after eight seasons at the side of the Spaniard has elected to move to Red Bull to replace the departing Bradley Scanes.
Manwaring works with Hintsa Performance, the performance coaching company launched by the late Dr Aki Hinsta, who worked with Lewis Hamilton and Mika Hakkinen. He died in 2016 after battling cancer.
In a twist of fate, Verstappen's father Jos also worked with Manwaring's own father, also called Rupert. during his racing career.

Apparently (acccording to the BBC's chequered flag podcast) Lambiase left the pitwall after Max's complaints at the Belgian GP.
Verstappen: "We should have just ******* pushed two laps in a row like I said."
Lambiase: "But you are through Max."
Verstappen: "I don't give a f*** mate if I'm through in P10. It's just s*** execution."
Lambiase: "OK and then when the track was two seconds quicker for your final lap and you didn't have any energy left, how would that have gone down? But you tell me what you want to do in Q3 and we will do it. Sets, fuel, run plan."

Non story. Gp and max are notoriously close and brutally honest to each other. Just brit press stirring the pot
Nobody said they had problems. It would just show their 'old married couple'-relationship regarding the biggering
Posted 28 November 2023 - 22:57
yeah Max can be an arse but GP does not come across of being a pushover either. I think they are fine, Max goes over the line and GP will "slap" him.
In Monza FP3 (?) GP was brutal. Max wanted to do another fast lap, GP advised against burning the tyres. Max did it anyway to get a feel for something (that's what he said).
After the lap:
GP: So Max, did you learn anything new on these tyres?
Max: not really
GP: Great job!
Loved it!
Posted 29 November 2023 - 08:25
Yeah GP sure does not get impressed with Max being a mega star. I say he's the only one who puts him in is place when he misbehaves. And that is good to Max because being so sucesseful can make a person full of himself specially at young age. GP is the one who keeps his feet on the ground and Max respects that, I love their "antics" because sometimes GP "wins" (Belgium) sometimes Max "wins" (Spain).

Horner: 'Red Bull's year was insane… and we started early on our 2024 car'
Chris Medland
November 29th 2023
Christian Horner says this year's Red Bull is the most successful car in F1 history, but tells Chris Medland in a Motor Sport exclusive that he can't dwell on the past. There's a title to retain in 2024; an engine to build for 2026; but firstly, a pile of appraisals on his desk.
“The fact that we got to Singapore unbeaten, holy moly, it’s unbelievable.
“When you think back over, not just the last 10 months or 11 months, but if you think back over the last 24 months… Two years ago here in Abu Dhabi, we were fighting, going into the final round of the championship level on points. What we’ve achieved since then, is mind boggling.”
It really does feel like a long time since that infamous night at the Yas Marina Circuit when Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen started the final race of the season locked together. It was one of the great seasons up to that point,as Christian Horner’s Red Bull team brought an end to Mercedes’ dominance, and kicked off a period of its own.
Since then, there have been 44 grands prix held, and Red Bull has won 38 of them. Of the six times Red Bull has been beaten, four came in the first 11 races of 2022 as the team fought to get its extremely quick car down to a weight that would let it exploit the performance it had.
Or put more simply: 31 wins from the past 33 races.
The whole interview with Horner.
Posted 29 November 2023 - 19:05
I think there are not enough words to describe how tremendous the effort from the team was. Obviously this is not good for fans of other teams, we experienced this with the dream team Ferrari had and then Mercedes.
It's always MEGA impressive and getting all those things right to make it look easy is super hard. Hats off to all the folks on this.
Posted 29 November 2023 - 19:46
I do think they have done a fantastic job.. but I also think the only team rivalling them in 2021 screwed the pooch utterly on the new regs and never found a way back which has exaggerated the gain.

Some nice words from Jacques: https://www.planetf1...-max-verstappen
I tend to agree with him especially on the focused part.
As for domination I guess a lot has been said about this already. Of course the car was great especially in race trim but looking at the whole picture including qualifying I agree and dont think it was as dominant as the Mercedes in some of their dominant years.
