I hope this is the right thread to post this. From Jennie Gow's twitter:

Hi everyone, been quiet the last few eeks, this i sbecause I suffered a serious stroke two weeks ago. My husband is helping me type this, as I'm finding it hard to write and my speech is most affected.

I;m desperate to make a full recovery and return to work soon, but it might take some time. Thank you to the medical teams at Frimley and St George's and my family and friends who've got me through the last fortnight X

I very much hope she's feeling better soon.

So young and healthy too.

Just goes to show you can never be complacent.

Get well soon

Bloody hell! Mid-40's.

Fingers crossed she makes a full recovery. Shocking.

Shocking news, she's a young Mum too I believe. And I think one of the main voices in the upcoming season of Drive to Survive? Awful, stroke recovery is an incredibly long process.

I've just been reading that BBC F1 journalist Jennie Gow recently suffered a serious stroke:

https://www.mirror.c...ke-bbc-28947054

She's only 45 which seems young to be suffering from something like that.

Young, but not unheard of.

All the best to her, and I hope things improve for her in short a time as possible.

Must have been bad she claimed she needed her husbands help to type the announcement, :(

Andrew Marr has made a pretty good recovery from his stroke so here's hoping she recovers as much as possible.

Terrible news. She always adds a bit of light heatedness among the d1 media which can sometimes be a bit too serious all the time.

Hope she recovers quickly.

Jennie is a cool lady. Met her in a hospitality tent at COTA a couple of years ago. All positive thoughts for her steady recovery.

This is awful news. Obviously not unheard of but tremendously bad luck for someone of her age to suffer a stroke. Hoping she makes a full recovery.

I'm so sorry to hear of this for Jenny.  I had a stroke on September 23, 2022 at 6:30 PM.  I was paralyzed on my left side.  Through a crazy amount of hard work and therapy, I'm ok now.  I only have a couple of residual effect which should diminish over time.  My thoughts go out to Jenny and her family.  Best of success in her recovery.  The hard work is ahead of her.  I know she will do well.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!  I enjoin all of you to get into a physicians office ASAP and get a full work-up.  The week before the stroke I biked 37 miles per day and worked on a friends farm baling hay and putting it on flat beds.  I did 200 myself and I worked out 4-6 days per week.  The ER staff was shocked to see how healthy I was. All it took was a touch of hypertension, a BP spike from 60-70 hr work weeks and, boom, here comes the ambulance.

Get yourselves checked out guys and gals.  Do it for yourself, first and everyone else second.

Cheers-mk

Listened to the BBC's Chequered Flag season preview podcast today. Jennie obviously was not hosting, but Jack did play an audio clip from her where she expresses her desire to be back trackside later this season, sounds like her speech was affected pretty dramatically by the stroke but she's making good progress, was nice to hear her again after this news.
