See stricter monitoring of low tyre pressures during the race could lead to 'infringers' loosing laps or being disqualified.

I always new when the tyre pressures were too low, the tyre would go flat but only at the bottom, I didn't need the complicated whizzo electronics whatits to tell me that.

It's OK if they go over pressure in the race etc it's just then that the bike becomes unridable.

Glad to see that along with an extra race each weekend we could see the winner being garlanded, not because he won, but because because his tyre pressures were OK.

Give me strength.

Making this prediction here and now: Before long each rider's visor will incorporate a heads-up display showing the text of the rulebook, with scrollable pages, so there will be no excuses for noncompliance. Because the rulebook is the most important aspect of racing.

While you have a point I'd argue from the perspective of 50 years involvement that it's what is NOT in the rulebook which is the more important.

Didn't Ron Grant have up on the wall at Honda Britain when he was there "If they don't tell you it can't be done, then it can " Or words to that effect.

Much the same as 'It's not a crime if you don't get caught'

This seems to be the modern philosophy in most walks of public life.

Tyre pressure rules are in motorsports because the teams are idiots. Here in Oz with V8 Stupid cars they were trying to start with as little as 12psi. And then bitched the tyres were no good! As they destroyed them running flat. But hey they knew best,,, what would the manufacturer know.

I have discussed this over a long time with Dunlop staff.

A few years ago it was another monkey see monkey do with brake rotors,, with the peak of lunacy being 58 grooves on a 14" rotor. Oh yes the reason?? They had bite,, as does a bastard file!!!

F1 has been through similar idiocy and I am not surprised bike have as well.
