Target Competition decided this weekend to quit TCR Europe with immediate effect midway through the Paul Ricard round citing unfavorable BoP for the Hyundai Elantra. I thought maybe TCR Europe was running a different BoP to other TCR series because the Elantra is being very competitive elsewhere but Marcello Lotti has just responded to the quitting and confirmed they are running the same BoP everywhere and that he doesn't understand the decision beacuse of that (he also wants some sort of reaction from Hyundai Customer Racing).

Hello Touring Car brothers and sisters,
We got some goodies for you this weekend courtesy of Supercars & World TCR.
First off, here are the highlights of all 3 races of from The Bend for Supercars - a circuit I grew fond of recently:
And today, thankfully we can follow the TCR World Tour round at El Pinar in Uruguay LIVE
First race was at the same time with MotoGP so I missed it. I don't know why series keep doing this lol
But Race 2 is going GREEN in just 15 minutes - so feel free to enjoy some LIVE Touring Cars with the video below:

This new circuit kinda reminds me of Jarama in a way.
Not the best racing but it's something. Michelisz sliding through the chicane chased by Bjork was one of the highlight.
Next week we are still in South America with the 'World Tour' as we are racing in Argentina. Will definitely check it out if it's Live on Youtube. Cheers.

It would be better if the World Tour entries weren't a step ahead in development and set up and speed from the local championships they race with (even the TCR Europe entries were clearly slower than the WT counterparts at the beginning of the year, no matter if they were run by the same team, like Comtoyou).

It was fun weekend. I like Cyan, so I am not unhappy with their domination. What shocked me was the way Ma and Yann collided and weren't investigated.

The TCR World Tour is racing this weekend once again with TCR South America, now at La Pedrera in Argentina. Race one was held today under gloomy semiwet winter conditions. Despite a couple of safety cars, it was quite exciting, especially when compared to the previous weekend's races. As the YouTube video of the race is geoblocked for me, I can't share it but here is the TCR TV link.

Been too Sunday lazy cat today, yet as Ezequiel shared, here are the two races ( maybe they are geo-blocked so try a vpn and/or reddit search for a replay - they are there )
I did enjoy this a bit more than last weekend's Racing and more presence in South America is a very welcomed addition to the calendar.
Next rounds of World TCR are in November.

Today I watched the closed course circuit racing in my city Sofia, I am not sure if the cars are classified as tourers, production cars or what's not, but it was a lot of fun. Love seeing motorsport in person and going local isn't expensive at all.

I forgot to mention it last week, 16 year old Hungarian Attila Bucsi debuted in TCR Eastern Europe last weekend, racing for the first time with TCR machinery. He got pole position and won the race despite having a bad start and a messy first couple of laps. Norbi Michelisz has been supporting him since he was 12, he is convinced the kid is something special.

Wish him the best. Two Hungarian drivers were guest stars today, they drove cars which looked like Ladas, but were much more powerful than that to be ordinary.

The Lada VFTS is still an actively used rally car around here, so that is quite possible.

In the BTCC thread I mentioned that TC2000 is switching to SUVs from next season. The series' been struggling for some time now thank to terrible management from the previous owners. This is an attempt to attract the manufacturers again. So, the first SUV prototype has been presented. It's a VW Nivus. The engine is a spec 5 cylinder turbo producing 450 bhp, although they intend to take it to 500 bhp.

TCR Europe finale at Barcelona is now Live and under way and it's a fight for the title between three drivers, one of which is ancient veteran Tom Coronel:
Safety car period ending and we got a sprint to the finish.
You can also watch the replay at your behest if you are race starved this early Sunday.

I saw a few TCR races at Brands today. First Touring Car races i've seen (in person) in years. I was quite impressed, they are proper racing cars.

Touring Car Times reports news on TCR World Tour for next year:
-They are looking for FIA status.
-Only one European round, a visit to Morocco, visits to North America, South America, Australia, China and Macau are on the cards.
-Two new brands could join (one of them could be Toyota)
-Most likely no hybrids until 2025 (they want to have the hybrid kits available and installed in all the local series that share tracks with the World Tour entries)

Stock Car Brasil (namely Stock Car Pro Series) will exchange its current silhouette from of C-segment sedans to... SUVs!!!
Current V8s will also be gone.

I think they're going hybrid too, am I right? Those renders look more attractive than the first TC2000 SUV that has been testing.

Not for now.I think they're going hybrid too, am I right? Those renders look more attractive than the first TC2000 SUV that has been testing.
There is interest in going hybrid but not for this iteration of the rules.
Stock Car silhouette will have a lower height, they will look more like shooting brakes.
