That March is lovely - I had forgotten what a funky looking thing it was , and with rather sexy wheels too  And check out the profile of those rear tyres ...

Quite right.  Wisell did not start in the race.

Puts me in mind of a Top Fueller...

And doesn't the Shadow look elegant compared to a current F1?

Both Tyrrell drivers tested a different nose configuration during practice, but went back to the wide nose for the race.

Lovely pictures of a great era.

I was struck with nostalgia and some sadness when I opened the post and saw Mike Hailwood in the first picture.. :|

Excellent pics, thanks for sharing! IIRC this was the only time Tyrrell tried the chisel nose with wings during a GP weekend. Am I remembering correctly?

I think Chris Amon tried them in North America at the end of 1973.

Stewart's race car was his usual 006/2, Cevert had 006, while the spare car was 005. This 005 was the car with the chisel nose, practiced by both Stewart and Cevert with respectively (5T) and (6T).

Thanks, I had completely forgotten Amon drove for Tyrrell in Canada. I don't recall anything mentioned in the race reports about using the different nose config. but I read those reports 50 years ago...
