Lets be positive ... 4 different cars at the front ... fast cars out of position at a track where passing is not too hard ... should be lots of "action".

Could be an early race of the year contender ...

Somehow I think it will be a snoozefest.

Even one SC will ensure that Max will win.

Hoping to see another Alonso podium, but I doubt it gonna happen.

Looks like a great top 10, interested to see what happens when Verstappen collides with it. The season will inevitably catch fire at some point, it always does, maybe today will be the day. Race start soon!

Obligatory "I-didn't-watch-qualifying" question: what happened to Norris? Why 19th?

Generally these hyped up races are it seems. The drivers have been well behaved this weekend, but I really will be surprised if there is no SC that spices it up somewhat.

Hit the wall on his lap, and wasn't able to get it repaired in time for another lap.

Nico saying the Redbull has a 17 mph advantage with the DRS open to other teams and "must be doing something magical".

Much like Baku has never provided good racing without it's obligatory Safety Car.

Rare Martin Whitmarsh sighting on the grid walk. I presume Aston Martin is now doomed?

Will this emulate the last six hours of yesterday's Sebring 12h race? Or the F2 races? Somehow, I don't know why or when, but I'm expecting this cat to make another appearance...

I'm convinced that whoever makes these sort of decisions saw the chaos of Baku and thought 'we want some of that' and deliberately built a dangerous track. They want crashes, carbon fibre flying and safety cars.

Don't think Verstappen wins. Interested to see Alonso's pace. Hope Hamilton goes for an alternative strategy.

And David Richards shows yet again that he's one of Ben Sulayem's biggest allies (on Sky).

I’ll always love the two GP2 races we saw in Baku 2016, utter chaos and something out of Wacky Races, races that F1 can only dream of emulating 😂

Getting the image that it's gonna be all about how the cars work their tires. It's a close one stopper for those running S-M or M-S, those that are comfortable with it will most likely have the best results. SC will probably benefit RBR more, as they clearly seem the best at getting tire temps up, which is pronounced even more so when scrubbed.

Absolutely NO disrespect to Saudi Arabia, but they should work on their national anthem.

I think I could give a better rendition of a national anthem by blowing on a bottle of beer.

Have you done any head to head bets? I did all 10 several times, expecting 1 or 2 to let me down like during qualifying.

Having the drivers up for the anthem is such a silly protocol.

Everything protocol is under the FIA, including the anthems (Article 19.4 c) of the ISC).

fia_2023_formula_1_sporting_regulations_-_issue_2_-_2022-09-30.pdf

No less than sixteen (16) minutes before the scheduled start of the formation lap all drivers must be present at the front of the grid for the playing of the national anthem. Competitors will be provided the pre-race procedures as set out in the Media Delegate’s Note issued prior to the session.

In the national anthem-military power index, The SA national anthem garners a rousing, "They Can't Fight At All And Are Completely Hopeless", rating.  The highest (actually lowest) of the possible ratings.

Nice and easy Fernando. Long race and long season ahead to fight for the championship.

Having said that, I reckon Fernando will be leading the championship by the end of this race. 👌

Suspect SC will screw up Perez’s race somehow.
