I don't think the 1970 race has its own thread so I've created this just to repost Brian Dandridge's cine footage. It's easy to lose things amongst the other YouTube clips!  I wasn't at this race but know that some of you were, and given that Brian filmed from many differnt locations, it's an interesting record of the look and feel of Brands in 1970. As well as the Formula One cars there's some footage of the saloons, Frank Gardner's Mustang, Brian Muir's Camaro etc. Very happy memories!

If you're wondering, like I was, how Brian managed to shoot the saloon start from the back of the grid, then race around to Paddock, still on the opening lap, there were two heats, with times aggregated.  I think the quick Escorts are John Hine and Chris Craft.

Ah I remember this race, primarily because Bruce McLaren crashed in front of us at Clearways, and then signed a few autographs over the fence, which was very generous of him considering he was probably annoyed about the damage to his car. I were but a little squirt at the time, but even so when I watch the film it's like it was yesterday...

I think that is a true definition of nostalgia!

Lovely, brings it all back. Thanks for posting. 53 years and 2 days since that race and yet it seems almost like yesterday for me as well.  I went for practice and race day. Always liked to make the most of the weekend.  A very good crowd as well for a race in mid-March. 12 F1 cars started and only 6 finished according to my lap chart

The photographer in the red jacket walking along by the exit of Stirlings (6 min in) looks like Peter Burn of Autosport who I frequently saw at races at that time and very often stood in front of me trackside - unintentionally I'm sure !

Cracking day out. My father and I plus a work colleague drove down Sunday morning from Lancashire. We spectated on the approach to Druids. The two saloon races were superb with Frank Gardner's interviews after each heat victory possibly the highlight of the day! I think we got home around midnight!
