Or even his dad!
(...until the flag-to-flag Marco victory at Indy this year. You heard it here first. And last)

Dolph’s Wheel Power !!!
After 2 races.
Jp
Now that my rightful position at the head of the IndyCar fantasy league has been established, there are going to be some changes around here.
First, until further notice, I shall be referred to as Ace.
Second, all IndyCar race thread opening posts shall contain a picture of Will Power's previous victory at that track. If no such picture is available, it shall be substituted with the picture of Will Power posing with the Astor Cup in 2014 in order to enhance the comedic value of the thread:
Third, no mention of Scott Dixon's brilliance in the opening post is allowed. More specifically the use of the following words is expressly forbidden: "Iceman" & "inevitable".
Carry on.

Here's something old school I saw and still in good condition. The jacket got Tony Stewart 1997 championship embroidered on the front. Struck up a conversation with him and talked about the late Gary Bettenhausen. You will find amazing fans like this person and another I spoke with who is going to all the oval races this season.

Was away all at weekend, so only just caught the race... Not sure if I blinked throughout the green flag running. Loved every second.
If they told me every race was going to be held here, I wouldn't mind one bit
Beautiful Chaos

Got the bloody start time wrong! Ffs.
i find the Autosport official website to be the best place for race times. Whether its F1, Moto GP or Indydar. They list all the times clearly in your time zone on the column on the right.

I want Milwaukee and Homestead
And Indylights back at Indy (yes yes I know some don't agree with it but I don't really care)
Posted 04 April 2023 - 20:09
Milwaukee would be my first choice as well. Oh, and Richmond would be great.

From Saturday morning they got Ed Carpenter two-seater and Conor Daly NASCAR there
Look at this track between 7:30-8 AM
8-9 AM practice
Posted 04 April 2023 - 20:41
How's does turn 1 look?
Remaining practice
Meanwhile a good early morning crowd. Notice those long trays? That used to be seats. Now you can set your food, drink, or in some cases, prop your feet on it
Catch Jack Harvey, Marcus Ericsson, and Takuma Sato scootering their way to the autograph session
Got pictures with Alexander Rossi, Marcus Ericsson, and Santino Ferrucci. I'm censored for obvious reasons.

HCN fans can show their faces. It's not an IMSA race.

Final qualifying standings. For a good 11 cars Benjamin Pederson was on top shocking fans

You got practice/running the high groove session
Felix Rosenqvist and McLaren celebrates their pole
Here comes the trucks for the race
Posted 04 April 2023 - 21:10
Chad Chastain fixing up crumple sheet metal in the rear after he lost it in turn 2 on the first lap
Here's Nick Sanchez because he dominated the race
The big one that happened before the start finish line resulting a red flag. I saw the spin and crash and with the amount of smoke and dirt didn't catch Dean Thompson getting hit as he is stopped on track.
Carson Hocevar takes victory after bumping Sanchez who ends up taking Zane Smith out for his first caeer truck win
It was a boring race til the final stage. I got dirt, oil dry, and whatever content kicked up on me when packs of trucks drove past me. Photos from Sunday race coming.......

Bob Glidden!
(I know but seeing the Glidden name brought back memories of watching old Diamond P NHRA season review VHS tapes when I was younger...)
...and his Pro Stock duels with the always cheerful Warren Johnson, a man whom I only saw smile once (and I'm surprised it didn't send him to the hospital).

So, did the pitlane rule change since Bell and Hinchcliffe raced, or were they that unaware of the rules and responsibilities as drivers in the series? Why would anyone ever take a word they have to say seriously again?

It’s bizarre though, I can’t see how Rossi and his crew did anything wrong, he was leaving before Kirkwood even turned in
Posted 05 April 2023 - 13:07
I must admit, I trusted Hinchcliffe and Bell on this one, so my apologies to Kirkwood: I thought he was in the wrong, but now it's clearly not his fault.
Posted 05 April 2023 - 13:16
It seems to me that if neither Kirkwood nor Rossi did anything wrong and yet they still crashed on the pitlane, then you have a really bad system. Maybe Hinch and Bell assumed the pit lane rule that they did because they thought it would make no sense for the actual rules to be as they are.

Yeah, they were very specific and adamant about it so it was natural to assume they knew what they were talking about.

The pictures from Sunday and the main event: Indycar PPG 375. Before it Indycar two-seater making runs and there are five of them
This track is really big. The seating with the huge banner draped over? Those areas are sealed off.
On this race day happens to be Lonestar JR Johnny Rutherford birthday
They are pulling on to the track being prepared

What I am seeing now is that the breakfast burrito is the official food of Indycar.

I loaded up (just like rest of the fans before and after the race) and spent close to $100 in the weekend. Have their beaver mascot plush and shirt.

Caught the race on delay because I was working on cars yesterday. Not much to say except "wow"... that was an OUTSTANDING race
I caught it today, thanks to a holiday induced delay (plus my series link recording failed me, so I had to wait for the repeat yesterday evening to record it).
Completely agree, that was a joy of a race.
Of the stuff I caught up with from 2 weeks ago (Aussie GP, Aussie F2 sprint and feature, Aussie F3 sprint and feature), Texas was by far the best fun of the lot.
